So, the Peeps have been ordering and receiving a lot of fun things in the mail. Some that I’ve shared with you, and others that, well, I am just sharing with you now.
First up, Mr. Peeps’ and Papa Peeps’ wedding gifts. I ordered them both from Red Envelope because I found a 20% coupon online. They are the perfect wedding day gift:

Ms. Peep Toe’s post about vaccines reminded me that I have wanted to do a post about travel planning.
Disclaimer: I am not a travel agent or doctor, but I do know a little something because of the nature of my work.
If you are going to somewhere outside the country you are not familiar with (even places in the Caribbean or Mexico), please, PLEASE check the CDC’s Traveler’s Health website. I cannot stress this enough! I don’t know how many people I meet on trips who never thought to check about vaccines or other preventative medicines and wonder why they got sick. Even seasoned travelers can forget.
If there are any warnings about your vacation locale, I’d see your doctor, or better yet, go to a travel medicine clinic. Almost every university has one, as do most county public health centers. I say this because diseases can be specific to a region in a country. For example, malaria is prevalent in Ethiopia, but if you will only be in the capital city of Addis Ababa, then you don’t have to take malaria prevention medication. The mosquitoes that carry malaria can’t live in an altitude as high as Addis Ababa. But don’t take my word for it; double check with your doctor.
Travel clinics will go through your whole itinerary and help you determine which vaccines are necessary, precautionary, or just a good idea in general.
See your physician or visit the travel clinic early. Not only do you want to be bruise free on your honeymoon, but you want to insure that you can get your prescriptions.

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
When Mr Frenchie and I first started dating, “our song” was The Girl from Ipanema. Interesting, I know, but it seemed to follow us wherever we went.
Knowing that song would be an interesting first dance song, we talked on and off about our other options, and always came back to something by Michael Buble or Jamie Cullum. Mr Frenchie said they reminded him of me because we listened to them a lot at the beginning of our relationship, and I liked them because we used to dance to them in his apartment. I was surprised at how easily we narrowed down our choices to one song, with so many great tunes to choose from. I think the conversation went something like this:

Yeah, that’s right. I’ve been strutting around in the wedding blogging world like I actually have something to blog about. But in all actuality, my wedding plans are just that: plans.
I originally intended to share this post about my budget AFTER the wedding. But after much contemplation, I decided now is better than ever.
I have absolutely no clue how this wedding is going to come together by November given our VERY limited budget.
When we first got engaged, we knew we’d want to keep the budget tight because we don’t feel like it’s necessary to spend tons to have an amazing wedding. However, as we started planning, we realized that we would still need to have at least $12,000 just to pull off a decent Savannah destination wedding for 75 guests, and that was PUSHING it. I mean, that’s $15,000 UNDER the national average cost of a wedding.

Things have been heating up here as I’ve definitely felt that the details of the day keep jumping up in my face like, “WHAT! Yeah, I’m here! Whatcha gonna do about it?!” Maybe I just have a very hardcore inner voice.
Moving on… this weekend will be the first of a few makeup trials. Makeup and I are not particularly good friends, or should I say, we don’t know each other well. I NEVER wear makeup. Essentially, that trip to the MAC counter a few months ago with Special K was my first time even buying something like foundation. I only really wear lip gloss or lipstick, but nothing else… nothing. Sometimes I feel like I should, but I’ve been scarred. Yes, that’s right, scarred!!!

In May, we flew to Thailand! This was a long trip, and you know what I learned? American Airlines SUCKS. We flew american to Tokyo, and then JAL to Bangkok. I guess the airlines in Japan are subsidized by the government or something, because we got unlimited access to any movie or new TV show (hello HOUSE marathon!!), they wake you up to give you sushi, and you can sprawl across five seats! It’s glorious.
In Bangkok we stayed at a place called Phranakorn Nornlen. This couldn’t have been any better of a refuge in crazy Bangkok! The beds are stiff, but ALL the beds in Asian hotels are stiff (compared to my pillow-top, at least!). The mood of the place is tranquil, relaxed, and refreshing, and every morning they serve you a freshly made vegan breakfast. Man, I wish I had my picture of the food! It was SO delish!

I’ve thus far been afraid to buy any one piece of my wedding day ensemble; this is mostly because of my concern about the flower colors that will be available on the big day. I’d hate to buy orange shoes and an orange hair accessory and dress Mr. Mary Jane up in an orange tie only to find… no orange or yellow flowers at any of the grocery stores in town. I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to handle this. It isn’t a big concern, but I don’t want the colors to clash. I don’t want to go completely white with my accessories, either. I was to the point of considering consulting a florist and ordering flowers - something that I think would raise my floral budget quite a bit.
So I started to pay attention to the flowers at the grocery store. Whenever I go in, I try to take a moment to look at the floral selection. I’ve found that they usually have at least a few pink or yellow bunches of flowers and occasionally some other colors, but many of them are multi-colored bunches of mixed flowers, greenery and baby’s breath. These are flowers that appeal to the masses: bouquets fit for a grandmother’s birthday, a side-table centerpiece, or a friend recovering in the hospital. With that in mind, I give you this. (What’s a wedding planning girl [with little money to spend right now] to do? Plan, dream and Google-search, of course!!)

Ummm, how else can I say this? My floral designer is the sh*t. Yeah, that just about sums it up.
I’m still on the search for my own shoes, but I also need to make a decision on the bridesmaids’ shoes. However, I need the advice of the hive on what to do. I want all the bridesmaids to get their own shoes, but I do want to at least let them know what color to get.
In case you forgot what the bridesmaids’ dresses look like, here is a reminder picture:

The first option is letting everyone pick out their own silver or grey shoe.

When I saw these pictures on the awesome Duet Wedding Blog, my heart skipped a beat with excitement. I am in love with the styling, the birdcages, the colors. It inspired me today and made me think of so many fun things I could do with them, and I had to share these with everyone.

I’m jumping on the hair flower train. Sure, the oh-so-popular trend will date my pics. (Oh well!) I like the trend. But, I like giant flowers. It was confirmed after I saw this on Oncewed.com. It’s highly stylized, only good for editorials and, of course, totally impractical. Perfect!!

So, as you may know, I’m not a crafty person. At all. But I’ll try just about anything. Most of the time it’s a failure, with a capital F. But I’m never discouraged. So… last night I tried making a giant flower corsage (for my rehearsal dinner dress) as practice for a giant flower fascinator. Let’s just say it wasn’t failure. It took me all of 15 minutes, so…

Today is the day! I can’t believe it’s finally my turn to marry my best friend and the one true love of my life.
At the rehearsal yesterday, I felt so blessed to be surrounded by people who love Mr. Deviled Egg and me. Knowing that they came from near and far (one of my bridesmaids came in all the way from Germany!) gave me an overwhelming feeling of love and support. I can only imagine the emotions I am about to experience today.
So far, I’m surprised at how calm I’ve been. Despite all of the last minute to-dos, I really don’t feel stressed at all. A few people commented on how I didn’t seem nervous at all. I guess, overall, I’m not. I couldn’t be more sure of my decision to marry Mr. DE. I do believe he is the one for me and we have what it takes to make a happily ever after fairytale part of our reality. I’m so excited!
Today is a day of many changes for me. I get a new name, a new family, and a new life to share completely with a husband. Mr. DE will have some changes, too. He will be more than just a husband to me; he will become a son to my parents, a brother to my siblings, and an uncle to my nieces and nephews.

Way back when, I posted our wedding budget. It was final, and it wasn’t. We knew we only had about $15,000 to spend on the wedding AND the honeymoon, but where we spent it was up for grabs. By my calculations, it was doable if we only got 125-130 RSVPs. Well, here we are, less than 70 days until the wedding, and it looks like we’ll get no more than 123 people of the 157 invited. We still have 9 responses we’re waiting for, but if they all say yes, we’ll still be at 123.
On the one hand, I’m so relieved. My parents offered to pitch in extra because most of the extra guests were theirs. I didn’t want to take any more of their money and I was really hoping to stick to our budget. On the other hand, I am still a little sad that we got to our desired guest count because a lot of my friends couldn’t come out. I guess that’s how it goes.
So here’s our bittersweet dilemma: should we add to the guest list?
At the very least, we can add 2 people. At the very most, I bet we can add about 7 people.
