I Know! I Know! Only 2 Months Left!

June 2nd, 2009 @ 12:04 pm by Mrs. Joey

Yes, we’ve only got about 2 months left until the big day. Sometimes I feel like our wedding day can’t come soon enough and other days I have no idea where the last 11 months of my life has gone. In general, I’m not too stressed about the planning. I feel like we’re making good progress on our long detailed to do list. There’s still a lot on that list, but nothing too crazy (so far). Mr. Joey is done with school in 2 weeks, so that will help a lot. FMIL Joey will be in town a week before the wedding, so if any sewing needs to be done, she’ll be around to help. By sewing, I mean the ring boy’s tie. I finished all 25 of the table runners a few weeks back, but as a sewing newBEE, the tie scares me.

Anyway, I was checking with Martha regarding what tasks she suggests I have done by what date, when I noticed “61 days until your wedding” plastered on my screen. What? 61 days? I haven’t consulted Martha in a while, so seeing the actual number of days left freaked me out. It left me in a panic. I started assigning Mr. Joey tasks to do out of nowhere. I consulted our to do list and immediately set out crossing items off the list like finalizing who gets which luggage tag favor and securing our tourist visas to Australia. Eventually, I settled down and went back to my not-too-stressed self.

todolist

I decided I just needed to look at our to do list and start taking it section by section and also assign myself due dates. Not only am I a list nerd, but I’m a due date kind of girl. I work best under pressure, or at least when I know something has a due date.

Are you assigning your to do list items due dates? Also, those of you within the 2 month mark, are you feeling stressed, or like you’ve got it under control?

I’m at 54 days and OMG am I stressing… I have so much stuff that we’ve put off because ‘we’ve got time’… hmmm… pretty sure there’s not much time anymore, it’s crunch time as far as I’m concerned! lol… BUT, our invites will be finished tonight and in the mail in the morning! A tad later then I wanted but I’m thrilled none the less!

I am a due-date FREAK. I feel like I have all the time in the world (wedding is 9-1/2 months away) so I have to set all kinds of deadlines for myself or nothing gets done!

I’m feeling stressed at 3 months!!!
we just decided last night that a list of deadlines is what we need to draw up (but then Mr. BC rolled his ankle running, so we ended up watching a movie … what list of deadlines?)

I’m with you at the two-month mark… and I am totally stressing! Somehow my to-do list is getting longer vs. shorter… I think I need to cut out some of my DIY projects, but I really don’t want to. I mean, how long can it really take to make those hanging flower-covered monograms? :)

This makes me laugh because my To-Do list is up on the screen behind Weddingbee!
We are 26 (!!!!) days out and I am feeling pretty good, actually! The big things I have left are finalizing the timelines, getting the stuff for the welcome bags, finalizing the ceremony and basic reception stuff. I have a power weekend planned with a friend, my mom and aunt so I think we will get a lot done!

I have 9 1/2 months to go, but I have devised a timeline of sorts which I am sort of using as my due dates. The funny thing is, as I was looking at my timeline, I was telling myself I was going to have all this stuff done before. We’ll see how that goes!

Miss Joey, I used to have the exact same experience every time I checked in with Martha! As soon as I got under 100 days, I started to panic every time I logged in. (”What? Only 58 days away?!”) I think you’re smart to give yourself some personal tasks with due dates. I know I set reminders on my calendar, because I work best under pressure. Unless I gave myself exact dates to do things, I just sort of felt like “eh…it will get done…eventually…”

I’m trying not to stress about my To-Do list b/c I really can’t tackle much of it until the end of July when school is out for the summer :-/

Yikes, not under control yet. Working a summer schedule through the beginning of August though (extended day hours with Fridays off) so hoping to make strides on a few things at the end of the week!

I’m at 47 days to go and am not yet freaking out. But I don’t think that will last for long. I am unable to delegate because I don’t trust anyone enough (my OCD issues). If you can delegate, I am jealous!

uh yeah I’m stressed. I have 25 days left which mywedding.com & facebook will NOT let me forget. But it’s so overwhelming that a certain sense of calm just sort of washed over me @ the 1 month mark–what will be will be-it is what it is, & it ain’t what it ain’t! Good luck to you!

I’m also at the two month mark ….. my lists seem to be getting longer rather than shorter. Every time I mark something off I turn around and add 2 or 3 more things to do! Aaaagghh! Just this week I decided to make a list for each week — it definitely makes it seem more “do-able” and a little less stressful!
