Surprise Reception

June 4th, 2009 @ 2:54 pm by Mrs. French Bulldog

Melissa over at Operation NICE posted this hilarious video by Improv Everywhere. According to their website, Improv Everywhere “causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places”. What could be a better definition for a wedding reception? And a surprise one, at that!

I love how the newlywed couple just rolls with the punches and totally plays along. It’s a reminder to just enjoy your wedding day no matter what happens.

How would you react to a surprise reception?

I love Improv Everywhere! This was so neat, I’m sure the couple was going to do something low key but here was a whole party for them. There are nice people out there!

i saw this on cup of jo and thought it was so cute!

They were such good sports!–I think it’s so funny how they got right into it and got so excited with complete strangers

Is it silly that I just teared up over a “fake” reception?
This was adorable, thanks for sharing!

That’s such a beautiful idea! And it’ll make an incredible story for that couple… imagine asking your parents about their wedding, and having them say, “Well, we came out of the courthouse, and two dozen complete strangers gave us cake and champagne!” Brilliant.

This is great! The bride and groom were such good sports! The improv group is kinda weird because they’re so nice and happy it almost seems fake. But overall, they seem like they really love doing what they do.
