How Do You Say “Thank You”?

June 8th, 2009 @ 2:02 pm by Mrs. Hot Cocoa

I’ll let you in on a little secret: Mr. HC has a serious case of POFAD (”put off for another day”) syndrome. Two months after our wedding, he still hasn’t sent out his thank you notes yet! Oy.

But when he finally gets around to doing it, he’ll have these three designs to choose from:

For our wedding, I’d Goccoed tags with “thanks” in English, Chinese, and Hebrew to attach to our favors.

I took the same graphic, inserted it into a few of our favorite photos, uploaded it to Vistaprint, and voila!

Original photos by Leigh Miller Photography, Luna Photography, and Della Chen Photography.

I had the photos printed on linen paper, and the effect was quite luxe — a bit more expensive I think (hope?) than what we spent on them (about $0.75 per card, including shipping).

Vistaprint has great discounts if you subscribe to their e-list. (They’ll send you about a bazillion e-mails, so be forewarned!)

Do you or your spouse/fiance have POFAD too? Anyone have good strategies for how to motivate someone with POFAD? HELP!

Oooo, those look great. Not sure yet what we’re going to do for our thank you notes, but this is definitely a cute idea!

Mrs. HC, what’s the font you used for thanks? I love it!

We had a small wedding and cranked out the thank you cards pretty fast. The day after our honeymoon, actually.

@yi: Sigh . . . I am jealous of your efficiency! The English font is “feel” by Veer.

So glad you posted this - I need to get to designing and printing our thank you cards. I looked into Vistaprint & will now get to photoshopping & uploading. I love yours! :)

I love the photos you picked!

I have our thank yous printed (they are similar to our invites), but I have to cut them apart and start writing them out. I would like to include a wedding picture, but it will be another week or so before I get and pro shots from our photographer.

The invites came out great. I’m thinking of using Vistaprint for our save the dates.

I think its hard to find motivation, maybe set a goal for him, like once he’s done you’ll do something fun together to celebrate?

Wow — I’m not even going to try to bother making my hubby write thank-you notes; I’ll just do them myself. (Admittedly, we only had 55 people at our wedding, so the numbers are pretty slim anyway — but the way I look at it “his” peeps are now my family and friends too!!

I recommend bringing them on car rides or plane trips — that’s how I finished ours within 2 months!

Mrs. HC, did you use the thank you card option on Vista print or photo card option? I thinking of going the same route but was wondering which one you used. Thanks!!!!!! :)
