Celebrating One Year!

June 9th, 2009 @ 1:01 pm by Mrs. Toucan

I think our first anniversary was probably a little different from most, in a sense that we spent all day celebrating it with family and friends!

We started our day by going back to our reception venue, Jin Asia Cuisine Restaurant, for a dim sum brunch with my parents and sisters. It was somewhat surreal being there. The last time we were there, we were introduced as a new Mr. and Mrs.!

(Random Note: Despite being with the Mister for almost 8 years now, I still forget how tall he is until I see pictures like these!)

After stuffing ourselves at brunch, we had the good fortune of being invited to see the Sox play at Fenway!

My friend, Jess, had scored some of my favorite seats in the whole park… the Budweiser Roof Deck! Each table of four also comes with an awesome view, and a $100 food and drink credit! Check out the crap we ate. :)

Yeeeeaaaaah, Monster Dogs!

Unfortunately, despite our rally caps…

Our Sox couldn’t pull out the win for us.

Oh, well. It was a great day anyway! :)

(Next, I’ll share our anniversary gifts to each other!)

Did you celebrate your anniversary alone as a couple, or with friends and family?

That’s so fun that you were with friends and family!

I think for our first anniversary, I envision a weekend getaway, just the two of us! We’ll see :-)

Since our reception location is in my favorite part of Philly — and Mr. Bruschetta and I visit this area often — I’m already wondering what it’ll be like to walk past the F.U.E.L. House weeks, months and years after our wedding!

@Miss Bruschetta: My fiance’s 10 year reunion was this year and one of his classmates had celebrated their wedding at the same venue. She had a smile on her face all night, looking right at home. :) i hope you feel that when you pass by! And I hope that I get a CHANCE to go back to my venue - it’s in Jamaica. Any excuse to go back!

That sounds awesome! I love the photos at the baseball game. Since we took a mini-moon after our wedding, I want to take the same trip next year (it’s totally reasonable).
