About Mrs. Apple Cider

I wanted to give you guys a sneak peek at my first DIY project. The soap project. I decided not to actually make soap. While I think that is an amazing project, my time is limited and I don’t mind a little Ivory soap every once in a while.

The soap will go in the hotel rooms of our guests and in the rooms at the Villa (where I will stay and my lovely ladies will stay - along with mom). I will also put a bar in the bathroom at the reception site.

(These 3 are my favorite so far!)

Above are the 6 bars that I “tested” this weekend. They came out really nicely, I think. I still have some things to add - a stamp to the tag and a label on the back so everyone knows it is soap. Once I have all of that, I will share the DIY directions and final images.

What was your first wedding DIY project?  Was it a success?

Love it! So cute!

We were planning on enclosing a pack of playing cards in our OOT bags. I might borrow this packaging idea for those. They’re about the same size, right? :-)

I would love to do the soap like this, but the hotel we did the room blocks at has awesome organic soap in the bathrooms.

Those turned out really cute. My SIL did soap for her wedding favors.
My first DIY project was pomander balls with roses, I was surprised how great they turned out.

Great job! Where did you get the patterned paper that’s wrapped around each bar?

They look so nice! I would love to get one of those! I have that same Martha Stewart punch because I love how it looks (and how easy it is to line up the design to punch across a sheet of paper!) Great job on these!

so pretty! I almost made homemade soap as a tribute to my aunt who died of luekemia 6 years ago…
she used to make handmade soap and I wanted to wrap it like this for favors.
very pretty!

If you are using the Martha Stewart punch I might buy a second one as they break after a few hundred or so punches if you are using cardstock. I went through several of them with my DIY projects. It’s a lovely design though!
