Slowly But Surely

June 9th, 2009 @ 2:05 pm by Mrs. Mascara

Things are s l o w l y coming together on our wedding invitations! I sent the final guest list to the calligrapher today, so the envelopes should be addressed soon! We’ve been working hard to put together the parts that we can until we get the guts of the invites back from the printer. They’ll be back tomorrow, and then the paper cutting marathon begins! I can’t wait to see the final product come together!

Did you make your own invitations? Do you think it was worth all the hard work in the end?

Not making my own, but getting stressed we’re running out of time. Especially seeing a September bee so near to sending out invites!

Yes! I’m convinced it’s the mother of all DIY projects! But it was definitely worth all the blood, sweat, and tears in the end. Can’t wait to see your invites! :)

I’m making mine and I hope and pray that in the end I still have hair and think it was worth it!

I’m going to be making my own, I’m really excited to see how they turn out!! My wedding isn’t for 10 months, but I’m starting to get everything right now so I’m not stressed when it’s time to get everything done!! :] and I’m also really lucky because my Fiance has really good penmanship and also does calligraphy!! :] I love your colors btw, and good luck with everything =)

Does anyone else have the fear of a glaring typo that you somehow missed? That’s the stage I’m at right now.

I literally just dropped off the invite paper to be printed. As soon as we get them back we will start our own paper cutting and ribbon tying marathon. I can’t wait! I’m eager to get this project done. Can’t wait to see your final product.

I loved making my invites. It was completely worth it both financially and from a personal satisfaction standpoint. I was so happy with how they turned out!
@Bridebella: I was worried about that, too, so I had two different people I work with proof read them for me. I thought it would be better to have someone other than my mom or sisters check them out since my family has seen them so many times when I was looking for input on the design. I wanted fresh eyes to give them a good proof.

@Bridebella: lol, I read the beginning of your comment and immediately went back through my post to see if I had a really obvious typo. Then I realized you were talking about typos on invites, not in my post. The blonde hair comes out sometimes. I totally had the same worry when designing my invites!

Can’t wait to see your finished product! I designed, printed and assembled my own invitations but to be fair I only had to make 15 of them so it didn’t take me that long. I loved how original they ended up being though which is one of the best parts of DIY invites!

Wow.. that’s a lot of invitations.. I can’t wait to see the end product. I helped making invitations for my sister’s and cousin’s wedding - that was a lot of work.

I’m 90% done with my invitations and it’s definitely worth it!! Thankfully, I spaced out the time to make them! Otherwise, I’d be so stressed!

I can’t wait to see your invites!! :)

Our invites were semi-DIY, if that’s even a word?! We hired someone (ETSY!!!) to create the design and send us PDF files. Then we printed, cut, glued, cut some more…. Was it worth it? I guess I don’t have a straight answer for that. They were soooo much work, but I couldn’t have afforded pocket-style invites it they hadn’t been DIY. I guess I have to say yes, because they turned out gorgeous and are exactly what I wanted. Can’t wait to see yours when they are all finished! Love the colors, by the way!!

@Miss Mascara: Sorry to scare you about the typo. I hate that feeling!

@Deanna: the ribbon is from JoAnn’s, but its only sold in the larger stores. I couldn’t find it online or in the smaller stores. The brand is Casa Collection and the color is Eggplant.
