I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
About Mrs. French Bulldog

Unfortunately our original lunching location didn’t work out. So a couple weeks ago, Mama Frenchie, Auntie S, BM J, and I went to check out The Crab Catcher. How could we choose a lunching menu without tasting the food? (Please, we’ll take any excuse for a ladies’ afternoon of good food and shopping.)

Ladies Who Lunch... with Their Bridesmaids: Part II : wedding bridal shower Aunties

Auntie S and Mama Frenchie checkin’ out The Crab Catcher

It had everything we were looking for:

1 - Nice ocean view - check!

This was the view from our table!

2 - Yummy food - check and check! (Sorry it’s half eaten. The food looked so tasty we forgot to take a picture first.)

POACHED EGGS LA JOLLA - Southern style blue crab cakes with Old Bay spices, topped with poached eggs and spicy remoulade

COBB SALAD - Mesclun greens, marinated chicken breast, avocado, tomato, bleu cheese, smoked bacon, egg and a red wine vinaigrette

3 - Yummy desserts - check and check!

Flourless chocolate cake

Chocolate covered strawberries

4 - Lunching area with a view - Sorry, I know this picture isn’t the best, but we’ll be seated at the table closet to you and the one with the innocent bystander in the black shirt. We really wanted to sit next to the window, but they couldn’t squeeze in 18 people. Understandable.

These two tables will be joined by a square table in the middle, so it will look a little like a doggy bone. Our other option was to break the group into 3 tables, but I really like the idea of everyone sitting together.

After my first shower this weekend (post to come), this whole wedding thing it starting to feel more real. I cannot wait to spend time with my ladies and family the morning before our wedding… and the view, champagne, and yummy food won’t hurt. ;) Also, since our wedding is inland, I’m glad I’ll get a chance to show the ocean off to some of our out of town guests.

Are you planning any wedding events near other areas to show off your town? Do you have any ladies’ events planned the week of your wedding? What are you going to do?

this is a new idea to me - the bridesmaids lunch - but i love it!! since our wedding is out of town, i think it would be great to have one, since the wedding party and families will be there for the whole wedding weekend (fri to sun)!

I’m still trying to pick a nice breakfast location that will also showcase Iowa and the lake since everyone is from out of town.

Ooh I love the food there, I miss La Jolla. My friends and family came over from England - so we had fun showing them round - it was like a holiday for all of us.
