About Mrs. Deviled Egg

The weekend before our wedding, Mr. Deviled Egg and I were roped into having bachelor and bachelorette parties. Mr. DE joined the guys at Dave & Buster’s for dinner and games followed by a trip to a couple of places where photography was prohibited. I, on the other hand, was able to capture most of my evening, in all of its embarrassing glory, in photos.

First up, we (my bridesmaids, a college friend, my FSIL and my mom) met up at a hotel in downtown Pittsburgh to prep for the evening. I was gifted with a few accessories and then we all piled into the hotel’s courtesy shuttle for a ride to the Hard Rock Cafe in Station Square for dinner.

While waiting for our food, I was given some more gifts.

A nice light-up sash and big bling ring to accompany my hot pink boa and plastic tiara

Also contained in that seemingly harmless floral gift bag were some maracas!

Shake, shake, shake!

If you look closely in the next one, you can see what else they gave me in a similar shape.

I had to keep things slightly hidden because we noticed some children at a table nearby.

I also received a veil and a pack of straws that were also not safe for opening at the restaurant because a family was seated right next to us when I was opening the gifts, but you will see them later on in the post. :-)

At the Hard Rock that night, there must have been 6 or 8 other bachelorette party groups. Two at a time, they pulled the brides-to-be and a member of her bridal party to the middle of the room to do a shot.

When it was my turn, I was seated next to another bride-to-be and handcuffed to her. Then, our partners in crime (in my case, it was Mr. DE’s sister) was to help us do the shot. The “blow job” was placed between her knees and I had to shoot it without using my hands.

I was successful, but that thing tasted terrible!

Bad picture #1 of Mrs. DE. More to follow!

Up next, we headed to Bar Louie for a few drinks and then to the Matrix for some dancing in the ’80s room and some general shenanigans. Of course, we posed for some photos.

With my sisters and Matrons of Honor (Jess, left, and Jen, right)

Bridesmaid and high school friend Erin

Me with bridesmaid and now SIL Kelly, left, and sister-in-law-to-be Leah, right, (She’s getting married to Mr. DE’s brother next weekend!)

And Kristin, a friend from college. Notice the straw! Haha!

Moving forward, I would just like to say that yes, I had a couple of drinks that night, but I will embarrassingly admit that I was about 95% – 98% sober the entire evening. I was completely aware of what I was doing, so I take full responsibility for all crazy actions performed by me. I am definitely the type of person who does not need alcohol to do anything silly.

We had a blast at the Matrix! Here’s a little taste of what when down:

I used maracas for microphones.

An old guy danced with me.

We reenacted Charlie’s Angels.

I jumped off of stuff. (I told you there would be more bad photos of me!)

I juggled some of my new toys.

And, well… I guess this one with the penis straws is pretty self-explanatory.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been out on a girl’s night for some dancing and fun. I really had a great time at the Matrix, but the party didn’t stop there.

Part two will conclude with a trip to a karaoke bar, where more craziness ensued.

How many penises can you count in this post? Did your bachelorette party have a theme?

Mine was “black and white” and we all dressed up in black and white!

It was also a “pecker party” because there were phallic cakes and pans and mints and stuff. =P

I bought those straws for my friend’s bachelorette party too (I was MOH). My party theme was Sex and the City…we all wore cocktail dresses, they took me to a fancy top floor restaurant overlooking the city, and they made me wear a veil with a big bird on it like Carrie does in the SATC movie. It was a blast!

I counted 25 penises… unless you could men w/ penises, then I need to count again ;-)
You look like you had a BLAST at your bachlorette party! I can’t wait to hear about the next part.

You got a picture with the Silver Fox! I’m so jealous. The 80’s room at Matrix was my go-to place to dance for a long time.

LoL!! Too funny! Looks like you had a good time. And at least you can remember it! I had a friend who passed out at her bachlorette par-tay by 11pm. And doesn’t even remember leaving the hotel. Unfortunately for her, we have photos. :)

[...] Where I last left off, the girls and I were leaving the Matrix because we learned that there was karaoke going on at another club in Station Square. Dancing was fun, but the place was getting crowded and we were all ready to move on. [...]
