I love art (all kinds). I don't have any secrets. I talk a lot and listen even more. I show love by baking. I'm timid by nature, but brave when it counts. Mr. Bunny and I work at competing weekly newspapers, which makes it a little interesting trying to describe our work joys and frustrations without giving away too much before the paper comes out. In spite of that little hurdle, we've managed to build a pretty solid relationship in the short one-and-a-half years we will have been together when we tie the knot. I can't wait!
About Mrs. Bunny

The End is the Beginning

June 16th, 2009 @ 10:33 am by Mrs. Bunny

Welp, I’m officially broke (almost). I visited my bank accounts today to see where I should charge the honeymoon plane tickets and realized I am pretty much out of cash!

A bevy of last minute purchases during the past month — including Mr. Bunny’s ring — have completely exhausted my cash reserves.

It’s not as though I don’t have two pennies to my name. I’ve just officially reached my limit for wedding spending. After I plunk down $200 to get to Boston, I’m done with wedding spending until the honeymoon … that is, if I want to be able to actually DO anything while we’re in Cape Cod.

It’s the end of the line for my spending, folks.

I guess it’s time to look around and make do with the things I already have. I’ve stocked up a lot of craft supplies over the past six months, and I always seem to spot random objects that might work well for decor.

Time for me to toss out the credit card, kick my brain in gear and start thinking like a Junk Queen!

all pics from Junk Camp

This is Junkerella, the official mascot of Junk Camp, blog home of Ki Nassauer. Ki is an absolute goddess whose primary purpose in life is turning trash into treasure. This chick has some mad skillz.

Take this project, for example. She turns a bunch of discarded industrial light covers….

… into this! Wouldn’t this be great for holding flowers or tea lights?

Or, more creatively, silverware!

I found Ki’s blog via One Pretty Thing and read through her entire archives in one afternoon. I look at the materials she has to work with then see her finished project and think, “Why didn’t I come up with that!?”

Here’s one of my favorite projects. All it takes is a drill, a piece of wire and a stamp with a handle.

Perfect for place cards, right?

We’re not having assigned seating, but I have big plans for this one…

Where do you turn for inspiration on the cheap? I’d love to visit your favorite sites!

Are you going to Cape Cod for your honeymoon?

Cool pics. I never would have thought of that.

This is more of a home interiors site, but it’s inspirational nonetheless! http://www.designspongeonline.com/category/before-and-after

Those are some sweet ideas. =) I especially like the use of the industrial light holders combined with the mason jar. To glass gives it a rustic feeling, and the metal gives it a more modern, cutting-edge look.

The stamps are also really cool! They’d be awesome for a vintage wedding! I like the placecards idea, but I’m also thinking they could be used to hold pictures in a centrepiece, or to mark chairs where loved ones who’ve passed away would sit.

I’ve got to check out that site — it looks awesome! ^.^
