An Event & A Confession…

June 17th, 2009 @ 5:51 pm by Mrs. Gloss

We got our first wedding gift in the mail last week! It was SO exciting, and made everything feel so much more real!

We got all our new glasses and a tablecloth with matching napkins (don’t worry, we haven’t used them yet!). Thanks, Auntie L!

So, now comes the confession…

Yes, that would be a screen shot of our registry above, and I was able to capture it because I can’t NOT visit… every day… multiple times.

Confession :
I am a full-blown registry stalker.

Any other addicts out there? How much do you check your registry? Should we form a support group? :)

I just started stalking my registries a couple of days ago…and found that people have started buying us things! So, of course, I haven’t been able to stop stalking since. I keep thinking: Wow, this wedding is actually happening! :D

I haven’t started yet but when we visited our registry for the first time since registering last night we discovered almost everything was gone! I freaked out. We didn’t register for much because we’re encouraging people to contribute to our house down payment fund, but still. Also, we totally registered for the Otis glasses too. Good taste!

my wedding is not until October but I already check it every week or two….if not to see if anything has been purchased to add some more goodies! It’s like a really nice, really long, christmas list with pictures :)

I was a major stalker as well. Maybe every other day. Whenever I was finished reading WB and the other blogs I read I would move on to that. If you can help it though, don’t do it! It makes it so much more fun when you didn’t know it was coming!

Admitted stalker here! It makes it that much more exciting and real! There is also a useful purpose for stalking too so that you can make sure the things you registered for are still available.

Girl, I stalked my registry as much as I stalk weddingbee!! It is so natural and so fun!! Why wouldn’t we want to stalk it! I got married three weeks ago and I still stalk it!-just a little less-:)

I stalked it at first but I have started to just stay off it
I am someone who likes to be surprised. Part of me really wants to know…but I also really like being surprised.
The rule in our house is that the FI can go on but I don’t . If anyone needs to tell us to change someone…or a family member needs to give us a heads up about a gift they bought that wasn’t on the registry..they tell him.
That way we are able to stay on top of it and I can still be surprised

I did…until the shower. Now I guess no one will buy us anything until just before the wedding. sigh — one of my favorite preoccupations gone (temporarily)

I also have a problem!! I’m so glad it’s not only me. My fi yells at me like every day about it. He wants us to be surprised and he insists that I not tell him ANYTHING that’s been bought. It doesn’t stop me from blurting things out though! I’ll be really excited over an item and tell him and he says “DON’T TELL ME!!” And I’ll say ok and then 5 minutes later I blurt out “butitwasourstirfrypan!!!!” Luckily, he just laughs… but he really thinks I need to stop. It’s just toooo addicting though!!

I don’t have a registry yet - I’m not sure I need another site to stalk just yet ;)

Don’t do it! It’s way better to be surprised.

Total stalker here. I tried not to do it right before my shower, but the bookmarks were right there, tempting me to just glance at the registries. I’ve now removed the bookmarks, so now I check once every couple of days rather than a couple of times a day. :-)

Um yeah so, I stalk if that’s what you want to call it, but only so that I know if our registry is running low. Yeah that’s why I do it…riiiight. (We are not adding a single other thing to our registry no matter what!) I love getting boxes in the mail–nothing to lug home from the reception, & you can get a jump on your thank you cards. We registered for the Otis glasses (& got them already!). I wish C&B wrapped our gifts up so nicely.

Registry stalker here!! I try not to look but it is so hard. We received a lot of wedding gifts from my FMIL 6 months ago but in the last month 4 or 5 items have been purchased which has now created my stalker habit… It is so exciting!

I am so addicted; I usually check it twice after I get home from work (because who knows what time people are shopping!) It has gotten worse since my shower is this weekend… but I am confused because barely anything is gone from our registry and we have over 20 people coming to the shower?! It concerns me a little (bad, I know!)

I called my FI when he was golfing for work last Friday afternoon with clients to say “GUESS WHAT! Someone got us our KitchenAid mixer!!!” Yeah… it’s… badddd. :)

Omg … I thought I was the only one who had a secret obsession about the registry. I havent peeked but let me tell you I want to very bad. Just knowing I can see what we have gotten at anytime is burning me up inside. We are starting to have the white and black Crate and Barrel boxes start showing up on our doorstep latley and it takes everything in my will power not to open them before the bridal shower. The only reason I havent peeked at the registry is because I want to have an honest surprised look on my face for my family at the shower. Other wise I would be just as stalker style as you.

I don’t have to stalk our registry b/c my mom is already taking care of that for me. She emails me almost daily updates :)
