The Dude and I took our engagement pictures a couple weeks ago with our wedding photographers, the Nichols. They’re a husband + wife team based here in Austin, and they are amazing! When we told them we wanted a vintage-inspired shoot, they were right on board. Jennifer emailed me asking if I had anything in mind for the shoot, and I told her there was this old car junkyard that we had walked past one day and were curious about. I thought it was a long shot, but she loved the idea, and it actually ended up working out!
They found so many cool backdrops to shoot us in right around our neighborhood (East Side, represent).
Finally, we ended the shoot in our fave record store, End of an Ear, in South Austin.
We had SO much fun taking these pictures. Jennifer and C.J. made us feel so comfortable, and we got into the swing of it pretty quickly. At one point, the Dude told me to “smile with my eyes”–ha! I’ve made him watch America’s Next Top Model one too many times, I think.
I can’t wait to work with the Nichols again on our wedding day!

Such awesome locations and they are SO totally vintage-inspired! Love it.
I love having so many different backdrops. We succeeded in doing that for our engagement pictures, and I’m hoping our (non-posed) wedding pictures will be the same way!

These came out great, my fi is a huge car guy and we really wanted to incorporate his sports car, but it wasnt working when we had ours done, seeing your shots really makes me wish it was working for our shoot!

These are so cute! I love the junk yard pictures, and the record store shots! We had so much fun shooting in the record store. We used our album holding picture for our holiday card, but that shot could also be easily transformed into a thank you card too!

Miss Mouse… I love your pictures!! I LOVE that you wore your glasses in your pictures! Are you going to wear them in your wedding pictures?? I have worn glasses for years, and my eyes go cross without them, but I NEVER see any pictures of brides in glasses! If you are wearing your glasses in the wedding pictures, PLEASE post them for us glasses-wearing brides to see!
