About Mrs. Piglet

My Dancing Shoes

June 19th, 2009 @ 4:29 pm by Mrs. Piglet

Our first dance is a high priority for Mr Piglet. So much so, he wants to wake up at the butt crack of dawn, walk to the beach, and practice our moves… everyday. For the record, it didn’t happen this morning. :) But he did last Sunday (by himself), and practiced his steps for a solid half hour. WOW. My jaw dropped when he told me this. He’s really serious!

All this dancing talk prompted me to (finally) search for the perfect pair of dancing shoes to go with my beloved dress! In case you forgot, I am the third owner of this twice-loved dress. The length is a wee-bit long, but some higher heels should do the trick to bring it up a notch.

So that was the first requirement, the heel height. No wait. I lied. The first requirement was that the shoes were to be yellow and have rosettes! I love rosette adornments! and they must have an ankle strap! Basically, I wanted the same shoes as Weddingbee Pro, Chelsea Petaja.

Oh, this picture never gets old! :)

So, the hunt began.

I was desperately hoping to find a pair at one of the bargain meccas, since Chelsea managed to score hers at Ross. But no such luck. I gave up that search and resorted to the internet. Hello Zappos!

I considered buying dyeable shoes from Cole Haan since I know that the Nike Air technology works and makes these super comfortable. Seriously, no wincing in pain after a full day’s wear with my pumps I found at Marshall’s. But, I’m lazy and I didn’t want to add another thing to my to-do list, so the search continued.

Air Rose Sandal, ~$350

Then, I came across these. Why these.. these match our colors! They’re kind of cute, but me being the fickle person that I am, wasn’t sure whether I liked the two-toned shoes. So I stepped away from the computer, and decided to think about it.

Christin Michaels, $127

Before purchasing anything online, I wanted to check out some outlet stores at Potomac Mills mall. At Neiman Marcus Last Call, I came across these. I couldn’t find a picture from an online store, but I did find this picture on eBay. They were marked down from $400 to $160.

Robert Clergerie, $160

Perfect height, yellow, and comfortable. Done. They weren’t what I envisioned originally, but I love them despite not having the rosettes and ankle strap. :)

What criteria did you use when searching for your wedding shoes? Did your selection fit the bill?

So are you going to buy the ones with the rosette then? I love them! But I love the ones you already bought, too. Maybe you can post pictures of them both on you!

I just checked flyjane.net and the only size they have is a 10 - don’t know what size you are Miss P but I’m guessing not a 10 :(

I think they’re fabulous shoes though and was about to buy them for myself but (other than the out of stock thing) they’re a 4 inch heel and that’s a little too much for me.

I love Chelsea’s shoes too! I PM’d her to see where she got them! But since she bought them at Ross months before it was hopeless! I love the ones you ended up finding!! And if you are still stuck on rosettes, Chelsea can make some for your shoes! :)

Hey ladies! So, I actually contacted customer service and asked if they’d be restocking this particular shoe. But alas! *tear* it’s been discontinued and they won’t be restocking this particular color (not sure about others)!

@quiche, @perfume - You’re so right, I should really see if I can find something. :)
