About Mrs. Star

Little Sister, Little Princess

June 22nd, 2009 @ 1:05 pm by Mrs. Star

Every flower girl is adorable. But not every bride is lucky enough to have a flower girl who is the love of her life.

That’s right, the mister knows that my two little sisters mean the world to me. And does it get any cuter than my little sister in that poufy pink dress? I don’t think so. Hers will be in lavender, but you get my point.

And my baby sister (who’s just about to turn 1) also got a gorgeous little dress, but she will be too young to walk her own way down the aisle even by the time the wedding comes around.

My beautiful flower girl had the whole bridal salon at Macy’s oohing and aahing over how beautiful she was. The only snafu?

The dress my mom and I loved was not her favorite. She loved one that was all tulle, and while it was very cute, it was totally not what we were looking for. She kept saying, “I don’t like this one, Sissy! I want my Cinderella dress.”

My genius mom offered to buy her a tulle dress to play with off of eBay (for $10!) if she would wear the one I picked for the wedding. What a good mommy!

Have any of you had opinionated flower girls? How do you know your littlest bridal party members?

She is SOOO SWEET! Look at how adorable she is!! We have 4 little flower girls and one honorary flower girl (like your baby sis, my niece will be just about 8 months old). 2 are my FIs nieces (6 and 3.5), one is my other niece (2 years) and the last one is my goddaughter (2.5 years) no complications yet but we’ll see when theyre getting ready to walk down the aisle! ;)

My little sister, who is 3, is my flower girl also! I was an only child till my parents adopted her and yes she is the love of my life too! She is opinonated also…her best friend and my other little girl in our sunday school class is the ring bearer and my sister said no she was going to carry the pillow, that she didn’t want to throw flowers!

Yay! I’m not the only one with her little sisters as her flower girls!! My four littlest sisters (aged almost 3 to 6 at the time) were the flower girls in our wedding. And they were pretty gosh darn adorable, if I do say so myself :)

your sister is a.DOR.a.ble!! My flower girl had a growth spurt and turned into a Jr. Bridesmaid. She had quite a bit of say in her “big girl” dress and it had to be left at grandma’s to keep her from wearing it before the big day! :)

My little sister is 5, and she is our flower girl, too! She is VERY opinionated! When I first asked her to be my flower girl, she wanted to know what a flower girl does. So I said, “You would walk down the aisle before me with pretty flowers!” There was a pause while she thought this over and then asked, “Can I sell the flowers?” I laughed, and said no. She then informed she would not be my flower girl unless I let her sell the flowers. *shakes head*

Your little sister is beautiful - what a little princess! My flower girl was my husband’s little sister! I get surprised looks when I tell people that his sister is 7, but his dad remarried and had his daughter later in life. She was the perfect age for a flower girl - young enough to be angelic but old enough to appreciate being one of the “big girls.” I knew she’d want the poufiest dress she could find, so I only showed her the one option that we had chosen for her! She liked that it looked just like the bridesmaids’ dresses and that it twirled! :)

So adorable! I am very very jealous as I actually don’t have a flower girl or ring bearer for my ceremony :( –there are NO little ones at all, even among 20 cousins. thankfully we are starting to get married and will be changing the demographic soon! Your little sisters are a treasure!

She is adorable!!! I’m picking out the FG dresses myself and my girls wouldn’t know the difference anyways because they’re too young.

My flower girl will be my FI’s 4 year old neice. Before we ever got engaged she kept telling me that we needed to get married soon so she could be our flower girl. Then at our engagement dinner, in front of all of our family, I asked her if she would please be our flower girl and she said “I’ll have to think about it”. She deliberated for a long 3 minutes before giving in and prancing happily around the room practicing the perfect method of tossing petals.

My FG is my baby sister too!! She just turned 5 and will be 5 1/2 at the wedding. (She was a miracle child, and is 20 years younger than I am) Man is she opinionated, though. Unfortunately for me, my mom tends to indulge her opinions about her attire. In the end, I decided it wasn’t worth the mental and emotional frustration of trying to fight both my mom and little sister. She is wearing a dress that she found and fell in love with, even though I feel like it does not go with the essence of my wedding in the least bit. The dress is cute, I’ll concede; it’s just disappointing that it looks nothing like what I imagined.
