I have been excited to write a post about our wedding signage, because it touches on so many different aspects of our wedding!
Up until this point, the only thing that had graphics exactly matching our invitation was the backdrop for the photobooth. I decided to give a shout out to the invites on our signature drink menu. I say signature “drink” instead of signature cocktails, because we included two beers on the menu:

Mr. Taffy is a huge beer fan, so when we realized that we could have Oberon and Two Hearted Ale on tap from the Michigan based Bell’s brewery, we decided to order it right away. I had fun playing on words with “Wedding Bells Ale”, but didn’t have to make up a cute name for “Two Hearted Ale”… it already had the “aww” factor. ![]()
Our second signature drink was champagne punch, which I was going to call the Blushing Bride until I realized what was in it: champagne, ginger ale and white grape juice- nothing pink! Luckily, Miss Bruschetta thought of a wonderful name: “The Bubbly Bride”! I have a very excitable personality, so this fits me perfectly. Thanks, Miss Bruschetta!
Our last signature drink was a non-alcoholic citrus based punch that we named “Something Blue” Punch. There were fresh blueberries floating in the punch, hence the name. Because this was non alcoholic, it was self serve at a location away from the bar, so I wanted to include it in the sign sitting on the bar so all of the non drinking, pregnant, and underage guests wouldn’t miss it. I also put a tiny little sign on the punch table so non drinkers would know that it was alcohol free.
The signature drink sign, after being mounted on black cardstock:

It had a lot of space at the bottom to accommodate the stand that held it up. Here’s the mini punch sign:

For our menus, I spent a good amount of time dreaming up some time consuming designs. Mr. Taffy put the smack down on me by requesting something extremely simple. I am so glad that he did—I wasn’t thinking about everything that would be together on the table, and this bare bones design looked classy instead of chaotic at the wedding. I mounted two menus back to back on black cardstock, and placed one on each table. Looking back, menus were definitely not essential, but hopefully informative to our guests.

Here’s a picture of the actual menu:

Like many, many bees before me, I made photo sharing cards for each place setting. These were around business card size, so I felt OK with putting the more complicated graphic on them. I shamelessly copied Mrs. Cherry Pie’s cards, almost word for word! I threw a gray border on here for ease of viewing, but they were just white cards at the wedding.

I placed the graphics so the blue dots would land on “Please”, “How” and “Log into”. Muah ha ha. ![]()
Making these Flickr cards was really easy and quick—way faster than those plain menus, even—and so worth it! We did pay $24.95 for our account so we could have the space and option to load more than one movie, and it was so worth the cost. The day after our wedding we had over 100 images, and now we have over 300! It is so much fun seeing our wedding from the guests’ point of view.
Next up, another idea that came from Weddingbee, and was most recently executed by Mrs. Cupcake. I had been so excited during the entire planning period to make “just” and “married” signs for the backs of our chairs!

I printed out the text, then used circle punches to make the dots that I glued on. After mounting the signs on black cardstock, I used an office hole punch to make holes for the ribbon. We used ivory ribbon, so it would blend in with the chair covers. Here is a front and back shot:

A close up of the ribbon, which we just taped onto the back:

Speaking of Mrs. Cupcake, I was so in love with the amazing photo booth sign that she made for her wedding that I asked her if she would make one for us. I wasn’t sure if she would translate the sign for a portrait booth vs. a traditional photo strip booth. She was up to the challenge and designed this awesome sign:

I loved it, and it was a huge hit at the reception! It measured 30″ x 42″. Here is a picture, post-wedding, of the sign in our backyard:

It was huge, and really caught everyone’s attention.
Are you planning on designing any of the signage for your wedding?
