This past weekend, three of my wonderful aunts threw me my very first bridal shower. It was held at the Knollwood Country Club in Lake Forest, Illinois, and let me tell you, this was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL location!

So, two of my bridesmaids and I set off early so we would have plenty of time to get from the city up to the shower. Well, like the best laid plans, this completely fell through when we ran into terrrrrible traffic north of the city.

Boo on that! But we made it in one piece and commenced with the activities of the day.

The day started off with a DELISH salad and some totally yummy treats. After a couple of games, it was time to get down to the real biznaz of the day—presents!

Who has two thumbs, but would only like to use one in a majorly lame thumbs up and looooves presents? This guy!

Two of my bridesmaids, my good friend Katie, and me at one of the lovely tables. Don’t you adore the centerpieces?! If you look closely you can see white bags that held M&Ms personalized with me and the mister’s wedding date, and our names. So cute!

Overall it was a pretty great day. The shower was fantastic, and I had a great time, but the best part was getting to spend time with the women who are closest to me. Gotta love girl time!
