… Ms. Joey will find wedding inspiration.
Mr. Joey got a grant thing from the Gilder Leherman Institute of American History to spend a week in Washington D.C. studying the 1960s. While it doesn’t sound like the most exciting thing to most, he’s really excited about it and I’m really excited he’s excited.
With him gone, I’m free to spend as much time on the internet as I want. Saturday night was no exception. I went hunting for more table number inspiration and stumbled upon my inspiration for our wedding.
This amazing wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty back in May, but apparently I missed it. It encompasses a lot of the ideas I had floating in my head but have had a hard time bringing together.
The weird thing about finding this amazing wedding is that I feel like we’re copying them, but we’re not, not really. Within the first week of getting engaged, I knew our wedding colors were going to be grey and yellow. Mr. Joey said no pink or red. I LOVE grey. It goes with everything. And I love yellow. It makes me happy. I thought about a grey and green combination, but our apartment is largely grey and green and we needed something special.
So I’ve found my inspiration 7 months after I had my original idea. Does that make sense?
Has anyone else discovered the inspiration for the style/design of their wedding after they started working on their wedding?

Oooo, I love how the succulents combine a bit of grey with an introduction of a hint of green! 
That is absolutely beautiful! I love those colors for the same reasons you do. Our colors were yellow, black, and white. I kind of wish we had used grey! Our house is FULL of grey.

Yes the same thing has happened to me!! But its ok, if it was your idea and what you wanted then do it and don’t worry about anyone else..

Love this. Our colors are also grey and yellow. I’ve always known these are going to be our colors, even before we were engaged and LONG before grey, or the combination was popular. I too feel a bit weird because I hate doing the “it” trend of the moment, but these have always been my colors so oh well.

I don’t think anyone planning a wedding is really “copying” in the traditional sense of the word. I couldn’t imagine ANYONE who didn’t pull inspiration from somewhere other than their own minds when planning their dream wedding. That’s what makes the wedding planning so fun! Just seeing what others have done and making the ideas you gather yours!

@Mrs. Quiche: I think so. I was planning to use a few at the ceremony to dress things up a little. Maybe not as big though.

I can totally relate - Long after Mr Frenchie and I decided on Yellow, Aqua and Teal, I discovered that Savvy Bride had a very similar color palette http://thebudgetsavvybride.com/
I have all these ideas, too, but no real inspiration. I’m still searching for “inspiration” that fits what I already have in mind.

yes! The Bride’s Cafe featured a free online magazine recently (sorry i forget its name), and it was travel themed + vintage parisien + in a french bistro!
my jaw dropped. exactly what we’re doing!
ah well, but i’ve been planning this for a year and a half. i’m glad to see that the idea was executed beautifully though!
