With all this going on, Mr. Kitten and I decided to have a tropical, "stress-free" destination wedding. Nevertheless, my micromanaging, detail-oriented, perfectionist side has prevailed---I am currently obsessed with every last detail of my "stress-free" destination wedding! Mini-Scrapbook Table Numbers!

June 23rd, 2009 @ 4:23 pm by Mrs. Kitten

Kitten wedding photo by The Nichols

Months and months ago when I was in the beginning of the wedding planning process, I came across these table numbers available for download on the Martha Stewart Weddings site. I loved the look of them and always knew I would find a way to incorporate them into our wedding. A few weeks before the big day, I still hadn’t decided how we would mark our tables. On one of my many, many trips to Michaels, I had spotted these light blue Martha Stewart Crafts photo albums. The front and back covers are covered with fabric and the insides have heavy accordion-folded paper. The albums were $9.99 apiece. Armed with my 40% off coupons, I decided these photo albums were the perfect vehicles for Martha’s table numbers.

We created the table numbers the night before leaving for the Cayman Islands. After printing two copies of each table number onto heavy cardstock, I cut out the numbers into an oval shaped and glued them to both sides of the albums using Mod Podge. For the insides of the albums, I envisioned miniature scrapbooks, each one with photographs tailored to the guests that would be sitting at the assigned table number. For example, for the table where Mr. Kitten’s college buddies were seated, I wanted to include as many photographs of those buddies as possible.

The only problem? I don’t scrapbook. And I’m not particularly crafty. Luckily, SIL Kitten, one of my lovely bridesmaids, is. She came over the night before we left for the Cayman Islands to help us create the albums. Brother Kitten, her husband, also helped out alongside Mr. Kitten. The two of them wielded hot glue guns, stickers, photos, and floral embellishments like champs!

I had to make sure Toby made an appearance at the wedding! We missed him!

What a cutie!

The albums were a huge hit at the wedding! Guests passed them around the tables and then “traded” from table to table so that they could take a look at each album. At the end of the night we let guests take them home, but I saved one as a keepsake.

How are you personalizing your tablescape?

Those are great! I wouldn’t have thought of actually having scrapbooks for numbers! I’m sure the guests fought over them!

How cute! My sister did something similar by making scrapbooks for the table of all the guests seated at the table and then left a page blank for them to write advice or wishes. She used them in place of a guest book. Both ideas are so personal and guests sure love them. They are beautiful!
