Mrs. Cowboy Boot's Picture
Mrs. Cowboy Boot, Santa Fe Age and Occupation: 25, Magazine Editor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Artist and Whitewater Rafting Guide Engagement Date: April 28th, 2008 Wedding Date: October 2009 Venue: Devil's Thumb Ranch, Colorado About Me: I grew up in Los Angeles and have since lived in San Diego, Boston, Italy, Hawaii, New York City, and Santa Fe. I speak Italian and love pasta. My real passion is the outdoors, though. When I'm not at work, I'm snowboarding, hiking with my two dogs, mountain biking, surfing, cross-country-skiing, or boating New Mexico's rivers. Despite my boyish love for adventure, I'm a girly-girl at heart and am overly-excited to pull off the romantic, vintage-inspired, country wedding of my dreams.
About Mrs. Cowboy Boot

You’re not going to believe this, but we ended up choosing invitation two. I loved the first invitation featuring Mr. CB’s barn, but he begged to differ. He likes things centered and clean. Plus, he liked the birds. We tried several other variations on the invitation featuring Mr. CB’s horse, but he really liked the birds.

When Mr. CB has input on something, I try my very best to listen and accommodate. Most everything in the wedding has been my decision (not because I’m selfish but because Mr. CB doesn’t care about ranunculus and flower girl dresses) so when he does care about something, I want to make it happen.

From the version you saw, we played with fonts, and here’s what we finally came up with. We changed the color of our names and made the final line, “BBQ, Beer, and Bluegrass To Follow” bolder and matching the stencil-y font of the “and” that sits between our names. I think the bolder font brings out the bird’s wings.

But don’t fear. The barn lives on.

We decided it would make quite the RSVP card. Check out the evolution below.

It started out vertical but I immediately said it should be panoramic. It seems like the intuitive layout–to lay it horizontally.

Next up, Sarah made the “RSVP” more readable with this adorable font and added the word “Name(s)” before the long line so people could tell us who is RSVPing. We decided to add a little “Leave Us A Note” towards the bottom of the card. I’ve heard from so many bees that it’s sad when you receive a “no” with no reason. I don’t expect people to tell us why they can’t come but it would be nice to hear from them either way.

Since our rehearsal dinner invitations are going to be included in our invitation suite, we needed to add a line to several RSVP cards to find out if people can make it to this event, too. See the two options below and tell me where you like the Rehearsal Dinner RSVP line.

Should it be below “Number Attending” or next to “Number Attending”?

Next up: Our hang tags and address fonts.

Did you send out a separate RSVP note for your rehearsal dinner or did you include it on your wedding RSVP?

I prefer it below. And I like how the barn is on the RSVP card — since you and Mr. CB will be getting all those back!

I like it under the ‘number attending’… this keeps all the yes answers together… might be less likely to get skipped… :-)

These turned out really nicely, CB! I love that the barn still gets a special spot :)

I love these! I think “Number Attending” should be on the lower line (more separation = less confusing), but actually I’d put a phone # RSVP on the rehearsal dinner invitation itself so that it’s not confusing at all!

Love them, Miss CB! We included our rehearsal dinner in our invites. Since only OOT guests (i have way too much family in Hawaii) are invited to the rehearsal dinner, we had two versions of the reply card.

I think that was a good move to put the barn on the RSVP - plus the new font for the rsvp card looks good!
The orientation of the text in the last frame looks best, in my opinion!

I’m in the minority, but since I like things even, I prefer option#2 which them next to each other. I also love the flourish font used for “name(s)” people may be more likely to write their names in, since that line usually gets overlooked.

Definitely put it below. Seems like it seperates it a bit making it it’s “own”. If that makes any sense………….So happy to see the barn was able to make an appearance. I love it!

I like the layout of the last one, with them both on the same line. I like all the room it leaves for Notes. I just like the flow better :)

P.s. I’m glad to see the barn back!

Below. It looks less cluttered and more obvious, like “Oh, we have to fill this in too”.

put it BELOW miss CB… you cannot fathom how many people do not pay enough attention when filling out an rsvp. you would think that number attending AND number attending rehersal dinner would be clear enough, but you will get some mixed up responses with the two on the same line…

Also may I recommend (we did this and it came in handy) numbering the back of your rsvps in pencil, and keep a log of who got which card. We had several guests that only checked their food choice and number attending, and didn’t bother with the name section… we could guess on a few of our no-name rsvp’s based on the postmark location, but a lot of our family was coming from the same city so…. those little numbers were a life saver! Good luck :)
