DIY Wedding Video

June 26th, 2009 @ 3:53 pm by DIY

Today’s guest DIY post comes from Kathy. Kathy shows us how she and her husband made this video to show at their May New York wedding. It’s called Kathy and Rob’s License to Wed… check it out!

Kathy and Rob’s License to Wed from Bobcat Productions on Vimeo.

Kathy says:

If you spend a little time with iMovie or any other built-in movie editing software and have a point and shoot camera with video, you can make a video. This was a fun project because the video was an element that helped set the tone of our wedding. We thought it had a lot of energy and showed off New York, and we just had fun making it.

WOW. Were all of these shot with a regular point and shoot camera?! (I could see the reflection in the subway glass sometimes)

And for the closing shot of you guys running away on the bridge, did you have a friend along? Did you stick it on a tripod or just prop the camera up on something?

Again-WOW. That is AWESOME for a DIY video.

Wow, thanks…

@Lolo7835: Some of the shots were from a Sony handy-cam, and others were from a point-and-shoot (from Canon Powershot SD series). The shots from the point-and-shoot were actually clearer. In some of the fixed shots, we used a tripod, but a lot of times, we just propped the camera on whatever was handy or used one of those telescoping extender things.

That was awesome. I love the indie feel to it, and it still feels incredibly romantic and so fresh. Congrats to the couple!
