About Mrs. Labrador

…so will the hive come to my rescue?

I think I may have lost it. After changing our wedding accent color, I fell in love with one particular image from the inspiration board that sparked the change. I’ve been obsessed ever since.

Those shoes are a pair of coveted Christian Louboutins (the Coquine Pink Satin Pump, I believe). The lucky bride who owns these not only had absolutely fabulous shoes for her wedding day, but amazing shots of them as well. I want that, too! Even when my accent color was red, I still had plans to spotlight my shoes.

I would never normally spend such a large chunk of change on a pair of shoes. But because I am saving so much money on my dress and my FMIL is contributing more than I originally expected, it has opened up my budget and allowed for me to afford these. And unlike my dress, shoes can be worn way more than once.

I fell so head over heels in love (pun certainly intended) with this image that I was determined to have my own pair of dusty pink Loubies (or even nude, since they’re so close to the pink shade). I Googled “pink Christian Louboutin” and there they were:

Christian Louboutin Pompadouce

I originally tried to find an authentic pair since I may be able to afford them after finding my dream dress for even less than I originally planned (that’s another whole post). But I was having no luck. This only fed my addiction and launched a series of Google searches with every combination of words I could think of that might bring me success. Still, nothing.

Even Mr. Lab is feeding my addiction. He peeked over my shoulder during one search and said that the cut of the shoe and the skinny high heel are (and I quote) “sexy as hell”. I can’t let him down with just any ol’ shoe now!

I’m at my wits end. The only explanation I could think of for these shoes not being available ANYWHERE is that their lucky owners are not giving them up. I mean, I don’t blame them. Who is their right mind would give up something so beautiful?

So here’s the part where I ask for your wise advice, hive. I’m beginning to realize that if someone out there can’t help me find these shoes, I’m going to need a contingency plan I can live with. I’ve already scoped out a couple of other shoes I like.

Here are my options:

Option A:

Very Croise Platform Slingback

Option B: Lady Gres

Option C: Very Prive Pailette

Option D: Be patient and keep looking. A pair of the Pompadouce are bound to surface before the wedding!

Option E: Make my own Louboutin Pompadouce-inspired shoes. I could buy an inexpensive pair of shoes in the same basic style and shade of pink (or even have them dyed). Then I could scour the internet looking for similar embellishments for the toes (maybe Etsy?). There are even places that sell red soles that I could have a cobbler attach. Who knows, this could be a fun DIY project for one-of-a-kind shoes?

Option F: Let go of the Loubie obsession all together and find another pair of dusty pink shoes.

So what’ll it be, hive?

P.S. In case you happen to find what I’m looking for, I’m a size 7.5/8 US or about a 38 Euro. I’d hate to get my hopes up just to find out they’re not my size!

Did you try calling the store in Vegas?

We have the same colors for our weddings and I have pink shoes also that I had dyed but I am seriously lusting after these now. See what you started! :)

If you can not find them I think that you can probably make them. I have seen similar dyeable shoes online. As far as the embellishment in the front, you can make that as well. I made my own shoe clips by buying large rhinestone buttons at a notions store (hard to find extra large rhinestone shoe clips) and plain shoe clips on ebay (from the seller Mythical Garden Path) and with a little crazy glue I had some beautiful shoe bling.

Hi, Those are extremely beautiful shoes. I don’t see an exact match, but these are close and if you could find a fun shoe embellishment, they would be even closer. Any way just a thought. Good Luck. LCD

What about these and add a brooch like I was thinking of doing?

Either way, stay strong until you find something you’re in love with. Patience pays off and you’ve still got time!

Do you have your heart set on CL? The Monolo’s are gorgeous and come in a ton of colors - they def have a bright fuschia, white, silver, gold and they look almost identical to your original pair.

Hi
Just wanted to let you know maybe you can try contacting Barneys or CL themselves. I have some contact numbers and emails. I don’t know how to send you a private message, but message me and I will try to help as much as possible. I too am a CL lover and recently bought my wedding pair, the Bow T Dorcet’s in Hot Pink! So yeah for wedding CL’s… I know you will find them … good luck Ms. Labrador!

I voted for the Lady Gres… IF you have to go with a second option. They are also gorgeous. But I’m with you… the pink shoes are to die for!!! Keep looking for your favorites.

As for that picture… yeah, I’d marry a man who proposed with CL’s. ;)

Those are lovely! I saw the green one’s on google, and they are fantastic. I would def. try calling one of the CL boutiques or stopping by one.

I vote to keep looking! I was madly in love with the Valentino Half D’Orsay when it came in dusty pink (seems to be no more) - but couldn’t justify the $745. I surprised myself by finding a much cheaper pair I liked just as much!

You’ve got me hooked! Those shoes match my color scheme PERFECTLY! And I, also, really want to highlight my shoes in the photos! I LOVE them! I certainly hope you find them! And I do think it’d be cute if you made them yourself! A very special touch!

if you’re not opposed to fake louboutins (that look very similar to the real thing), you can try this website:

http://www.buylouboutin.com/index.php

still not cheap, but they’re about half the price of the real things. a friend of mine has about 15 pairs of real loubs but will occasionally order from here and no one is the wiser.. ;)

I’m not sure where I read the story, but someone was able to track down the CL’s used for a magazine shoot with help from the store in Beverly Hills….I wonder if they or the Vegas store would have any advice in helping you find them?

I will say that I added brooches to my shoes and because they weren’t meant for thick fabrics actually had problems with one coming off (like I lost it on the way down the aisle but didn’t notice). So if you decide to go that route I’d look into a backup way to attach them. If you are looking for cheap ones to play with to see if you like the DIY look I’d recommend ordering from sammoon.
