About Mrs. Joey

Remember my new inspiration for the table numbers? Well, I played with it a little and came up with this…

Killing 3 Birds with 1 Stone - The Table Numbers : wedding decor diy reception Dscn100

It doesn’t look great because I haven’t finalized the text of each panel and I printed it on regular copy paper. I have some thicker paper leftover from the luggage tag favors that I’ll use.

I made one minor change to make the numbers a little more “us”. Instead of each panel saying the table number, I created a menu panel and an after party info panel. We have 120 guests and 130 place settings (10 for kids under 5), and I really didn’t want to make 120-130 menus. I figure this way, I’ve cut down on the work and the paper.

I need to adjust the dimensions a bit (too much white space) and I might paint the edges of the table numbers yellow a la Ms. Gloss. I haven’t decided on that, though — it could be more work than we need right now. I also feel like something is missing at the bottom. I tried the little legs Martha suggested, but I’m not sure about them. I was thinking maybe I could take some yellow or grey fimo clay and create a little round base to stick the table numbers in. Nothing fancy, just something round.

What do you guys think? Does the bottom need something? Do the edges need something, or are they OK as is?

I like them. I see what you say about the paper. I thicker cardstock will work much better. How many people are at each of your tables? Maybe you should have two on each with the second one having an “About Us”, since the 2nd one wouldn’t necessarily be visible to people looking for their table.

I’m not crazy about the legs. Maybe a yellow border around each side? I love the idea of making the numbers multitask by carrying two other crucial pieces of info!

These are really cute! Such a smart way to combine your table numbers and menus, they look really modern and fun. I ended up making 120 menus…ugh, I’m sure it’s one of those things I’ve done only for myself and pictures :)

Don’t you love trying stuff out with regular paper? It’s never as great until you bust out the card stock! Love ‘em.

I would make the legs a little bit shorter!

I agree w/ Miss Bruschetta. I like them without the legs, and I like the idea of using femo clay to hold them in place (although the thicker paper might do the trick on its own). Some kind of yellow edging would look great. Either something scalloped (with one of those cool card punches), or just a simple, straight yellow edging, depending on your style.

So resourceful! They turned out great - but I agree with Miss Bruschetta - a little touch of yellow might make them a little more your own.

Brilliant, Ms. Joey! How much would you charge if I asked you to make one for our wedding? We have approx. 150 - 180 ppl so 15 - 20 of these would be great. I suck at DIY projects coz I’m more of a “data” person and I’m impatient w/ crafts. I do appreciate their beauty, though. Just thought I’d ask. (I’m marrying a History teacher, too!)

this idea is so genius! i love how you used each side :) maybe using a thicker paper and rounding off the corners would give it a nice touch.

I think it looks good without the legs–it’s minimalist! It needs nothing else!

I like the idea, but I would like to see them spruced up a little bit. I think they are too plain. But thats just me, its a really creative idea though. I think I would just make a little more sturdy…with the card stock it will do that, but I think a border or a stamp somewhere…something to make a little more decorative. Thats just me.

I like them without the legs. I think having the number in text at 90 deg will create at least a few awkward moments as your guests try to find their tables.
