Who Invited Pepe Le Pew?

Who Invited Pepe Le Pew? : wedding venues Pepelep

Last week was Mr. Ducky’s birthday and we decided to go down to San Diego to celebrate with my family. We wanted to go to our wedding venue for dinner since Mr. Ducky won’t be able to be at our tasting, and this was a way for him to try the delicious food and have a special b-day celebration. I’ve mentioned before that I love the rustic elegance of the Rancho Bernardo Inn and all the beautiful gardens and nature that give each space a private feeling.

After dinner we decided to walk down to the ceremony site for fun and so that my brother could see what it looked like.

As we were admiring the beautiful lanterns hanging in all the trees we suddenly heard a rustling in the bushes next to us. Suddenly we saw a shadow running through the bushes by the path and my brother said, “Hey look! There is a white stripe, that’s a skunk!” Yes, there definitely was a SKUNK running down the path towards our ceremony site. We all had a good laugh over what would happen if Pepe made an appearance at the wedding. I guess I will be telling our wedding coordinator to add tomato juice to her emergency kit.

Well, you’ve been officially warned. If you come to the Duckling wedding there is the possibility of running into a skunk. At least it would be an entertaining recap!

What hazard might you face at your venue?

Um…temperamental pigeons? No really interesting animals hang out the Old City section of Philly!

Our hazard? Mr. Joey’s student. There was a rumor that a few of them might just crash the wedding since they have access to the school grounds.

Possibly a mountain lion?! Hopefully not though. Or we could have a deer or elk show up===it happens in the mountains :)

Mad cows! Actually, there is really only one cow at the venue, and they keep her in the barn, far from the ceremony site. :)

haha, well, our’s is pretty traditional… a church then a private social club ballroom.

However, we just had a huge storm pass through and we are concerned that the ballroom might have gotten flooded!

Well, Miss Ducky, you will understand this one being in SD. I am getting married at the Museum of Contemporary Art. it is a beautiful venue. One catch is, we have no clue what art will be up on the wall. One time I went and there was a beautiful chalk sketch of a gazebo, however two of my visits have been less romantic. One instalation featured neon lighted curse words, while the other had an androgenous naked form throwing a television set :). should be intresting

a river that kids could fall in if their parents don’t watch them close enough!

LOL! I dont think that would be a nice thing…so stay away from the Ducky wedding all you skunks! We were going to have an outdoor wedding but moved it inside to a room that has great big windows so it will have a feel of being outside…it almost looks like a green house without the greens! Any way…my mom was terrified of being stung if we had it outside because a few yrs ago she got stung by a bee or a wasp and had to go to the hospital because of a horrible allergic reaction…so now she will be glad we’re having it inside! But we will still go outside for pictures! I dont think April will be too bad with bees and wasp…its still a little too cool for them!

@lobster girl…that would be pretty interesting with the curse words or the nake form…gosh…I guess thats what you get when you go with contemporary art…anything goes! I must say that any form of art is beautiful in its own setting…but not every form of art is beautiful for a wedding! Good luck…I hope you get art full of flowers and pretty birds and mountains and such!

Too funny! Hopefully they’ll stay away in the daylight with lots of people crowded around. My venue may have the stink of horse poo since so many people take carriage rides around the Savannah squares!

We just went to a wedding on a farm where a cow mooed throughout the whole ceremony. Priceless.

My wedding is in a garden full of peacocks (30+) and they often hang out in the trees above the reception area - I’m keeping my fingers crossed that no one gets pooped on!

hahahaha!!

Our ceremony and reception site has a dog that comes and pays a visit around 5pm every single day. The property owner calls him Charlie and he’s as sweet as can be. However, he’s a jumper and I can just seem him coming around and jumping up on me while I’m in my lacy wedding dress…I can hear the sound of ripping fabric now. :/ Our wedding isn’t until next May though so I’m hoping he will get tired of this habit before our big day comes along!

I’m cracking up as I read all the quirks of our wedding sites! At least it makes things memorable!

skunks and cows mooing?! That sounds fun! :) or, at least memorable.

My site has little kittens that live in the trees and bushes - I’m SO excited because I love cats and would not mind one bit if they decided to enjoy the reception also. They scavenge from the guests at the restaurant so the wedding reception will probably be the same. I can just imagine a little line of kittens following me around because I certainly will be dropping scraps from the buffet!!
