“5:05AM”, the clock read. I figured it was late enough in the morning that I could allow myself to get out of bed. I had been tossing and turning all night long in giddy anticipation, checking the clock on an hourly basis. By the time five o’clock rolled around I realized I wasn’t going to be able to “sleep” any longer and jumped out of bed.
I threw open the curtains, silently praying that the dry weather we had experienced the previous afternoon had held. It was too early to tell, but the sky looked promising and I was already on cloud nine – the perfect day to get married. However, before we could get to that, we had a long day of primping ahead of us.
I ordered a $22 cup of coffee to be delivered to the room and set about gathering up my things and organizing myself to keep my hands and mind occupied. My mother and sister were set to arrive in my room around 9 so we could all head to the salon together. Since I had a little less than 4 whole hours to kill, I drew a long, luxurious bath and tried yet again to settle down.
Since that took all of 30 minutes, I still had time to burn and found myself on my laptop checking Weddingbee! A post or 20 later and I heard the sound of a knock at the door – they were here! I was so excited to let them in, as to me, it meant the day had begun - it was time to get ready to get married!!
Unfortunately, not everyone felt my uber-enthusiasm as they were working on staving off the effects of too many margaritas and not enough self restraint. Since the $22 coffee was long gone, we made a pit stop into Central Market to round up some provisions to sustain us during our long morning of beauty.
I took this awesome picture!
Due to the unplanned pit stop, we rolled into the salon a few minutes late. However, I had built about 3 hours of buffer into the timeline, so I was totally unfazed. The hair and makeup team was ready to go and BMChristina and my girl, Jenna, were shortly behind us. By 10:30 we had assembled all the players and were on our way to getting beautified.
The girls went first, alternating between hair and makeup, followed by my gorgeous mother.

I wanted to go last since the ceremony wasn’t until 5:30 PM and I wanted the least amount of time possible between the last swipe of mascara and the descent down the aisle.
The team at Veilvet did a fantastic job and we were all incredibly impressed with the transformations that had occurred. The ladies took us from rough and hung-over to bridal perfection in only a few short hours.
Unless otherwise noted, all the fantastic photos are the work of the uber-talented Jenna Cole.
