Mrs. Joey, Seattle Age and Occupation: 28, Project Administrator for Public Health NGO Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, High School History Teacher Engagement Date: June 24, 2008 Wedding Date: August 2009 Venue: Eastside Catholic Chapel and Lake Union Cafe About Me: I'm a Seattle girl through and through except for the fact that I don't drink coffee. I love my job most of the time because I get to travel and work with brilliant people who are trying to prevent Malaria. I love DIY projects of all sorts, cooking, and watching sports. I'd wear anything at Anthropologie and could spend all day on Etsy. I love to travel but shouldn't because I always get myself into unbelievable situations!
About Mrs. Joey

The Joeys made it legal yesterday! No, I’m not talking about getting our marriage license (we already did that), I’m talk about getting our building permit! WE HAVE A PERMIT! I can’t tell how relieved I am. I feel like a new woman — seriously.

The Happiest Day of Our Lives (So Far)! : wedding legal Dscn104

The permit consumed both our lives for the last 3 months, particularly, all of June. There were a lot of tears, a lot of swear words, plenty of begging and pleading, and now it’s all over and we’ve got it.

I’m so happy that it doesn’t even matter that it took 1 month longer than it should have (our paperwork sat on someone’s desk while he was on vacation for 3 weeks) or cost us over $2000 more than we were told initially. All that matters is we got it and we break ground Monday.

Getting our permit came at the perfect time. We’ve got less than a month to go and we both really need to focus on the wedding. Lucky for us, we planned ahead and made some decisions about the house (roofing, siding and kitchen) that should allow my Dad and his team work through our honeymoon without us needing to make any major decisions.

Anyone else have a non-wedding related victory lately that will surely help free up some much needed wedding planning time?

Exciting. My husband and I are on the same path! We should get our permits back within the next two week - whew! congrats and post progress… so hard to find people going through this type of thing. I live in Seattle too.

We were able to make our renovation-in-process-house liveable so we could move out of our old duplex by the July 1st deadline. Now that we’re here I can focus on wedding crafty things like invites rather than laying tile and painting drywall!

Yay! Congrats! Darn people and their vacations throwing off your schedule. We ran into the same delay - but it was at our venue!
