Mustaches and Masks

July 5th, 2009 @ 7:24 pm by Mrs. Bee

My friends Sophia and Mike are an artistic couple, so I’ve been trying to think of things that I can send them that reflect their fun, laid back style.  Then I remembered these super fun mustaches on a stick photographed recently by Carl Zoch – how fun would these be for a photobooth?!

These smile on a stick masks below are available in a couple of different designs, and are a ton of fun too.  (image via Brooklyn Bride)

I’m not sure if Sophia and Mike are doing a photobooth as they haven’t booked their photographer yet, but I might get these for them anyway.

Are you going to be using any type of props for your pictures?

Such a cute idea! And the bride in that first photo has the most stunning hair color I’ve ever seen. Wish I had the balls to do that.

I bought moustaches for me and the bridesmaids as a surprise last summer. We had a lot of fun with them. They weren’t on sticks - they stuck right on your face. :) You can see a photo here:

I did it because my first name is Lani and my husband’s last name is McDonald. In Canada there is a very famous hockey player named Lanny McDonald and he has a HUGE moustache. I didn’t take my guy’s name, but I thought the ’stache would be hilarious. :)

We had stick on mustaches that were a huge hit! But I do wish we had staches on a stick instead. So much more whimsical!

I’ve bought a couple of these mustaches-on-sticks for our wedding. I can’t wait. I am completely in love with them!

We’re not doing a photo booth but I reckon if I leave them by the bar or something , people will play with them when our photographer is nearby.

I’m so disappointed that the mustaches appear to be out of stock right now!

I wanted these too but they’re pricey!! My dear FI doesn’t want a photobooth either, so I guess I’m saving money? :-) I still think they’re cute!!

I love the mustaches!! I’m trying to make my own mustache on a stick with construction paper and wooden sticks.

I made ours from supplies at Michaels. Skinny wooden dowl, hot glue gun, and lightweight scroll-y wood which bears a passing resemblance to a mustache, when painted brown or black.

We made a sign that read “Grab a hat with panache or a fake mustache and SMILE” directing folks to goof off with photos & props.

See the results here! (We still want to sell our stuff, too FYI)

Does anyone know where to order plastic mustaches that could be stuck onto sticks?

here’s a link on Martha Stewarts site if you’re feeling crafty!

I’m debating a modified version of this and will be putting three ’staches on sticks and three glasses on sticks at each table.

We ended up making our own mustaches on sticks. We got a set of stick-on mustaches from Deal Extreme. I cut out a piece of cardboard in the shape of each mustache, and stapled it to a long plastic straw. I then stuck the mustache to the cardboard. Here is a picture of the results:
