Tin Cans Redone…

July 5th, 2009 @ 4:45 pm by Mrs. Gloss

I’ve been seriously neglecting my Google reader lately, and while going through a little clean-up last night I came across this image on 100 Layer Cake.

Cute - Check!
DIYable - Check!
Wallet Friendly - Check!

But I already have a concept for table numbers, so I was thinking, ‘what else could I do with these?’

’W E L C O M E’
’L O V E’

They would look so cute on our entry table, or possibly at the rehearsal dinner.

What would you spell?

Those are super cute! I think I’m going to have to start saving my cans and make some of those for my back patio (with designs of course, not numbers!).

Either the last name of my FI I’m taking, use one can somewhere just with the first initial of the last name, or maybe if you have an image throughout the entire day you could do—a bird or something. One can can be put in every bathroom!

it would be cute to spell you and your finaces new last name or your initials. It would also be nice to spell “thank you” and put them by the favors on the way out!

Those are cute, and they do double duty as mood lighting! I’d might try creating a pretty design, like a flower or lace instead if I couldn’t think of anything to spell out.

My gosh, those are so pretty! =) I would love to do the tin-can candles at our wedding, but I don’t know if they’d put off enough light to actually be functional….

For one of our friends’ weddings, one of the BMs bought various patterned paper (in line with the color scheme) and wrapped each tin can and added flowers to them. They turned out pretty nice (and affordable).

@Suzanne: If you click on the ‘100 Layer Cake’ link, it brings you to their site where they have a tutorial!

Cherry Pie did these too - I think she had a tutorial posted; they came out super cute! I want to do some for my porch on my house, just for fun.

My mom has ones very similar to these that we did flowers on for her patio. They’re super cute, and if I could only figure out how to get all the hardened wax out without busting the cans, we’d be golden!

That is such a great idea, and I will definitely try these out as soon as I collect enough cans.
