Choppity Chop!

July 6th, 2009 @ 5:39 pm by Mrs. Quiche

Yes, I succumbed to the P.W.C., otherwise known as the Post Wedding Chop.

Choppity Chop! : wedding hair 11 1

I love it! I was SO tired of my hair by the time I cut it, so I am in heaven. It is the perfect summer style - so light and fresh! It doesn’t hurt that Mr. Quiche loves it, too. :)

I have been wanting to chop off my hair for quite a while now, but waited so I could pull my hair back for the wedding. I also wanted to donate it to Locks of Love - but my stylist told me that I couldn’t! I was surprised. He told me it was because they no longer accept blonde hair, which didn’t sound right to me, but how was I to know?

So, away it went with the sweep of a broom. I checked the Locks of Love website & it doesn’t say anything about not accepting blonde hair! :( I am so sad that I wasn’t able to donate it.

So, did you fall victim to the PWC? Have you ever donated your hair?

I donated my hair once. I was trying to keep my hair long before the wedding, but it didn’t work out and I chopped it in March. Luckily, I still had enough time to get it to be long enough before October.

I have read/heard some bad things about Locks of Love recently, I had heard that some of the wigs actually have to be purchased and not all wigs, etc. are actually donated. I know Revlon has a great program, you should research other programs as well (for future brides with the p.w.c. itch!)

I donated 11 inches to locks of love. They are very particular about it. For it to be used for a wig it has to be all one length, no layers, and not dyed. They will accept hair that doesn’t meet those requirements to sell for doll’s hair to help defray the costs.
I really like you hair. Very chic

Your hair looks great! If your hair is dyed, permed or damaged though, they use it in other wigs to sell to offset the cost for locks of love. My cousin is a hairdresser where they use locks of love and thats where I got that info.

It looks cute! It’s been 6 months, and I’ve been all talk. I’m trying to convince the Mr. that it’ll be okay first. But it’s really getting too long, and when else than summer? I definitely want to donate! I heard about Locks of Love a couple years ago and my hair hasn’t been quite long enough until now.

love it!! I have a friend that donates to Pantene http://www.beautifullengths.com/en_US/requirements.jsp because they only need 8 inches.

I will definitely do the PWC, but I can’t donate because I dye constantly LOL.

Your hair looks great! That’s a strange policy re: the blond hair donation. I’ve been planning to cut my hair for ages–fun and frisky hair is my fave. :)

I was growing mine out for about a year and then last month (4 months shy of the wedding) I decided I’d had enough and chopped it all off. I guess PWC can also stand for Pre Wedding Chop.

I don’t know exactly what I’m supposed to do to style it now, but I am SO glad I cut it all off.

SO cute!!! I’m countin’ down the days…if I can pull it off, it’s happening the day after the wedding just hours before we leave for the honeymoon :)

try pantene’s beautiful lengths (someone mentioned it above). they’ll take hair in 8 inch ponytails

the wigs are distributed through the american cancer society - wig banks and look good…feel better (a workshop that helps women undergoing cancer treatment deal with changes in skin, hair, nails, etc)
