Even looking over the pictures again makes my heart swell. It was such a wonderful day, filled with so much love. All of my worries were for nothing. Even though I was still a bit anxious about opening presents, I had a few of my fabulous ‘maids right next to me to keep the chatter and laughter going all afternoon! Other than my ‘maids, and an old high school friend, most of the guests were Mama Cloud’s friends. I grew up in the area, but my parents have moved back to Boston, where we were originally from, a few years ago so I know she was also very excited to see everyone.
The company was not only great, but the decorations were amazing also! The whole house smelled amazing, courtesy of all the gorgeous peonies, my favorite!!

Walking in, guests saw not only gorgeous flowers, but one of our engagement pictures and a cute basket to drop a recipe card into. Mama Cloud had been “pretending” they forgot to send me an invitation for a while, but they really didn’t send me one because each came with a recipe card and instructions for each guest to bring me a favorite of their own. I know this idea has floated around a lot and is nothing too original, but I loved it, and by the end of the shower I had over 20 new meals to try! As I opened gifts we also stopped to draw the cards for door prizes (everyone left with eco-friendly bags filled with shower goodies) and I read out loud what everyone had submitted.
The food was AMAZING! I’m a girl who likes to eat, so I didn’t even hesitate to go back for seconds. Pasta salads, fruits, and spinach bites were delicious! And lots and lots of chocolate covered strawberries! Yummmm!

I said a few words to thank everyone for coming, and I was still a bit tense at this point. It was so weird to be sitting in this big honorary chair with all eyes on me. You can see in this picture another cute thing they did to decorate. To cover up a huge TV, they used one of my mom’s antique quilts (that big pink and white thing back there). I slept under that blanket in my parents’ house for years and it was nice to have a piece of home there, too.

They had to get at least one present in there for Mr. Cloud! Red Sox wrapping paper and all, brought all the way from Boston by my aunt!
There is nothing like opening embarrassing lingerie from your mom in front of all of her friends..
My maids were more interested in making my ribbon bouquet as gaudy as possible. I obviously look very pleased with the result.
We had to get one last shot with some of my favorites! BM J, my high school and beautiful pregnant friend K, me, BM S, MOH, and BM A. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon!! Oh, and I have to say my dress was a hit! I might have turned 20 or so of my mom’s friends into big Anthro fans!
