Dandelion Dreams

July 9th, 2009 @ 11:29 am by Mrs. Mouse

Recently, Miss Bruschetta and Mrs. Kitten blogged about the “rice toss”.

I don’t know if anyone’s ever done it before, but today I was thinking about how cool it would be for a daytime spring wedding if everyone were to blow dandelions at the bride and groom as they made their getaway.

Just an idea. Anyone out there seen any other cool ideas for the bride and groom send-off?

Oy. I would probably sneeze immediately afterward, and be all red-eyed and red-nosed in pics the next half hour of pics! Could be quite cute for an outdoorsy wedding, though.

I thought about this - I love dandelions. (in the south, it’s dandeelie-ons.)
But, alas, the golf club said that a mass of dandelions growing in the middle of the 18th green was NOT something they’d agree to.
I love the idea though.

The floating fluffs would look so pretty in pictures, but I had the same first thought as Miss Bruschetta… allergies!

I agree with the allergies issue, but also all of those little fluffs might get stuck to your hair…. cute in the pic as they are blowing, not so much when your covered in fuzz during your portraits :P

That would be so cute, but also kind of hard to pull off. I feel like everyone would have to stand REALLY close to the bride and groom in order to shower them with dandelion love! I love this picture though!

I love the way this looks, but I know that allergies would be a problem. I like lavender bud tosses, and sparklers, too. We used white rose petals and it was dreamy!

You know what, I kind of love this. It doesn’t matter if they’re all gather right around you blowing them directly on you…just that they’re blowing out into the air as you make your way back down the aisle. Go for it!

This idea is pretty adorable! It instantly reminded me of my childhood– running around the front yard blowing dandilions and then chasing the tiny “parachutes” to see how far they’d travel!

It also brings back memories of my mom yelling at me out the front window, aggrivated that my hundreds of parachutes would soon turn into bothersome weeds. I know my venue would never allow this, regardless of how cute : (

That would be really pretty! =) Too bad it would kill the groom. Sigh.

be careful for the allergies!!

but that’s a cute pic. our stationery was designed with a dandelion motif, so I have a heart for them, just not the nose!
