I would like to thank Weddingbee for the opportunity to write about my wedding. It was a lot of fun for me. I received a lot of positive feedback from many brides and I will try to write about more DIY projects in the future. I hope this inspires some of you, as you have inspired me. I will post future DIY projects to my site diyweddingdetails and the Weddingbee DIY section.

Our wedding was very fun and casual. We tried to make our guests feel as comfortable as possible and were glad that they made it to our wedding. We had our rehearsal dinner at the venue the night before and set up our tables, candy buffet, and decorations for the next day. It was a family event, for sure!

Our family came into town and helped us out. We were very grateful that they helped us made our day so very special.

Our ceremony was very short and sweet! Some said if you blinked, you missed it. We aren’t really the traditional types, so we had short vows and included a thank you note to our guests. We were married by our friend, the King of Scarborough Fair. With his last wish, “Live long and prosper,” we were hitched! It was a fun ceremony. The groom wrote the entire thing and I was very proud of him.

We had everybody tour different historic homes while we were taking pictures. It was a fun way for them to enjoy their time instead of having to stand around waiting for us.
The reception had a buffet line, a margarita machine, open bar, candy, and lots of desserts for everybody to take home.
It was a beautiful day in spring, and the guests could stay inside or come outside to dance with us. We were dancing fools! We also had a karaoke machine for everybody. It really felt like we had a great party at our house and our family and friends were there. I couldn’t have been happier.

I’m glad that our wedding turned out pretty nice. The groom was very involved and helped me with everything I asked. He took care of some vendors for me and I took care of the decoration. It was a great collaboration. I would recommend asking your groom to get involved. Let him have his picks, and he’ll be willing to help out a lot more.
Plan and plan and plan. Your wedding will go pretty smooth if you’re super organized. Just go with what you like and don’t worry too much about what people have to say. Take suggestions from people you care about the most and forget the rest. If something is a bit off, don’t sweat it, just enjoy your day. Most people won’t even notice if a detail is out of line. I always say that imperfections make it perfect. If everything is neat and perfect, it will look unnatural. Just let things flow and enjoy your time with your new husband, family and friends!
I’d like to give special thanks to our family and friends, and of course Michael, for his amazing flowers and help with decorations, and to Scott and Tem for our wonderful photos.
