I shared some of my favorite makeup products in a post last year, and since so many brides are diy-ing their makeup nowadays, I thought I’d share a couple of my recent favorite finds!

For someone who probably wears makeup around three times a month, I sure have a lot of it.  I’m so lazy about putting it on, but I do love makeup!

Both of these train cases were purchased off ebay for around $25.  I’ve given many away as gifts!

I’ve been very lucky to have my makeup done by some of the most talented ladies in the biz including: Nam Vo, Laura Nadeau, Ai Sakai, Sachiko Yanase, Joyce Luck, and our very own Mrs. Caramel!  I’ve picked up a couple of tips from them along the way, so here are some products that I’m loving lately:

Smashbox Photofinish Light Foundation Primer - The older I get, the oilier my skin gets, so I love that this primer is oil and fragrance-free.  It creates a nice base for your foundation to go on smoothly and last all day.

Foundation Brush - Using a foundation brush to apply foundation makes the coverage more even, and I use a lot less foundation!  I use the one from MAC, but I can’t tell that big of a difference in makeup brush lines.  It’s a pain to wash it before every use, but I will never go back to using my fingers or sponges.

Cle de Peau Concealer - Sachiko Yanase introduced me to this concealer.  Though it has won countless best concealer awards, I never tried it because it is so darn expensive!  But after Sachiko used it on my undereye circles and pimples, I was sold.  This is the single most expensive item in my makeup kit, but because Shiseido owns Cle de Peau, the color matches my Asian, yellow-undertoned skin perfectly.

MAC Studiofix C3 - I was breaking out like a monster recently, so I needed some heavy duty coverage and I found it in MAC’s Studio Fix.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Gold Deposit - Joyce Luck introduced me to this shimmering highlight powder.  I try not to get tanned, so this adds a nice summer glow.

Smashbox O-Glow - This is a gel blush that comes out of the tube clear, but reacts with your skin to turn a lovely pink.  I love to wear it in the summer!

NARS The Multiple in Copacabana - I use this as a highlighter under my brow and on my cheekbones.  I’m gonna have to try South Beach and Orgasm one day.

Benefit Benetint Lipgloss - I’ve used the Benetint lip balm forever, but my nails make it hard to apply to access the pot that it comes in, so I recently purchased the glossy wand version.  I love wearing this in the summer because it gives you just that perfect little bit of color!

Shiseido RD514 Dragon - I love the red lipstick trend that’s hot right now, but I’d never tried truly red lipstick.  Recently I bit the bullet and purchased this lipstick from Shiseido’s new Perfect Rouge line.   I’ve been wearing it with Prescriptives Ruby lipliner, and I LOVE it.  I never thought I could pull off red lips, but they do say that there is a perfect red for everyone out there!

Phew I sound like more of a makeup junkie than I really am!
