Wedding Things That Get Me Giddy

July 10th, 2009 @ 6:06 pm by Mrs. Star

Sometimes the stress of wedding planning really gets to me and I just want to tear my hair out. Somewhere in between my printer refusing to print our wedding maps, or getting told at the post office (incorrectly) that our invitations would cost nearly $2 to mail, or having out-of-towners complain about the cost of traveling to NYC, I end up seriously stressed out.

‘Why, oh why, did I need a Manhattan wedding filled with DIY details when we could’ve just gone to the courthouse?’ I sometimes ask myself in these moments.

Just when I think I can’t take it anymore, a precious little detail turns everything around for me. I ordered a custom-made return address stamp from Etsy to use on the RSVP postcards and on the back flap of our invitation envelopes:

Wedding Things That Get Me Giddy : wedding stationery Il 430x036

I love our gorgeous little stamp made by Etsy seller modernartstamps! Seeing our names together with our address on our own little stamp put this huge grin on my face because it somehow made it real that we’re together and we’re a team and this is our home and that’s all that really matters.

I’ve had several of these moments throughout the course of our planning. What details have gotten you giddy in the midst of wedding stress?

But then when you look back you’ll be so happy with most of your decisions! Just 3 more months!

The stamp IS cute!

Oh, I’ve been having waaaaay more of those “why the &^@#@&% are we doing this?!” moments now that the wedding’s fast approaching.

I get calm and happy and relaxed, though, when the mister and I start practicing our dance moves — we’re almost halfway through the batch of lessons we’re taking to learn our first dance!

I was thisclose to buying a stamp from this seller when we were sending out thank-you’s! But we are moving in less than a month so I figured I should wait. I love the one you picked out!

I feel you when you said, “Why, oh why, did I need a Manhattan wedding filled with DIY details when we could’ve just gone to the courthouse?” Only insert {Atlanta} instead of Manhattan.

I’m happy to hear that I’m not the only one who now finds a courthouse wedding incredibly appealing! I get jealous while reading Miss Mary Jane’s posts all the time.

I’ve been working on writing my vows for the last few weeks, and doing that always bring me to a happy place. I also loooove shopping for gifts for my bridesmaids.

I get giddy at the thought of all the little things we’ll be doing to celebrate our love: our wishing rocks, the many little traditions and non-traditions we’re planning to insert into our ceremony — and, of course, I absolutely LOVE crafting! Our invites and programs are making me all wriggly inside!

That is a really cute stamp! =) I’m torn between getting labels printed (I can get an employee discount) or getting a custom stamp made (though I suppose I could get a discount for that, too, hooray!).

Ironically I had the SAME issue with my maps! And then some…
And I got a custom made stamp too! I love it!
But, I actually had a friend design it and uploaded it to rubberstamps.com. Cost me $7! And if you buy ink pads the shipping is free!

Aww, I am dying to get one of these, too. I get excite whenever I think of a new project I want to include, even though that eventually leads to more stress, seeing as how the projects just seem to keep piling up!

I just went on the website. I am so excited. These would make a perfect gift for a new bride. I like to give stationary with their new monogram and with their first name, middle name, and new last name. I usually include custom made mailing stamps with their picture. And now to tie everything all in I could give them a custom made address stamp. Thanks for this post!!! I can’t to buy something from them.
