Mrs. French Bulldog, Orange County Age and Occupation: 28, Administrative Assistant & Interior Design Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Purchasing Analyst Engagement Date: November 8, 2008 Wedding Date: August 2009 Venue: Bernardo Winery About Me: I've lived in Atlanta, Dallas and Laguna Niguel; although I've lived in Orange County, CA most my life, I'm a Southerner at heart. I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
About Mrs. French Bulldog

Remember way back when I told you guys about how hard it was for Mr Frenchie and I to nail down our everyday plates?

Now, Jonathan Adler has threatened to add another plate into the debate! I would LOVE to “try white on white for an uptown vibe with graphic zing”, pleeeease.

Sadly the price is a little steep and I don’t know how I would register for Jonathan Adler. If price wasn’t an issue, what would your dream china be?

The Anna ii looks exactly like the Martha Stewart ones we got at Macys, I love them! Even the teacup is the same!

We actually aren’t registering for China! We have great everyday plates from Wal-Mart and while it owuld be nice, we would have nowhere to put it and nothing to use it for. Kind of jealous since I am now in love with the white-on-white… If I could register for anything and get it all, I’d totally register for something like that! (And then a 2nd house to put all our new stuff in! :-D LOL)

I still love the Maddison best — good luck with your tough choice!

I’m in love with the Maddison, I think it’s my favourite out of the choices you’ve shown us.

I have to agree with Miss Bruschetta … I really love the Maddison. It’s so fresh and clean looking. The white on white’s nice … but you’ve got something going with the Maddison.

OMg the white on white is great! I already have family heirloom Ironstone, but I bit the bullett and registered for the entire set of Waterford Lismore… i want it soooo bad!

If money wasn’t an issue, I still wouldn’t register for china. I’m going to register for more table settings of our Corelle Memphis pattern. They match our kitchen and have a fun pattern. I get really excited when we have people over!

I love the Maddison, too!

I like the Anna II or Crate and Barrels “Pearl” as Everydayware. I love our Fine China pick however, Wedgewood Nottingham. Or Monique Llhuilliers Etoile. I love china.

We registered for ridiculous Monique Lhuillier china. 12 sets. It was $125 a place setting. We loved it. While we were on the phone with FI’s mom telling her how to spell Lhuillier so she could look it up online, I did a google search and stumbled upon Royal Doulton’s Great Briton site. Our dinnerware was marked down to 72% off even after shipping from the UK and currency conversion (the dollar was at a high that week against the pound, double luck!). And not a single plate arrived broken. So I bought all 12 sets and 12 soup bowls for under $700 and we unregistered for it. We couldn’t ask our guests to spend $2,500 on the same thing we just found for $700!

Pick the bone china over the porcelain. Bone china is much more durable and as long as it doesn’t have metallic, it can go in the dishwasher. I grew up using bone china and not a single plate that mom had shipped in 40+ years. I like the Anna 2. Might be more expensive, but if you have to keep replacing things (unless you want to), it’s really not worth it. I’d get frustrated if I ended up with some broken stuff and was left with an incomplete set.

I love the Madison. I am into very clean, modern, sleek design so our home definitely skews this way. I just found out that they are opening a Jonathan Adler store a few blocks from us in Brooklyn. I will be doing a lot of looking but no touching. ;)

Honestly, you can’t go wrong with either!

I like Anna. The Jonathan Adler ones are cute, but you might get tired of them faster.

My fiance and I were in Le Gnome the other day and fell in love with Vera Wang’s dishes. My fiance is a big fan of smooth “elegant” lines and muted colours, and I just love the itty bitty bowls (eee!). Of course, Vera is ex-pen-sive, and we’re a ways off from determining what we’ll get (by which point I’m sure this particular set of dinnerware will be discontinued, wahh!)…but still. *sigh* Loved them.

I like the Anna II ones above…but if you’re going for a sleek, modern design for your home, then Madison’s the one to get!

Can you mix and match? Maybe just register for the salad plates of the white-on-white? Just an idea!!

I like Anna. And I like Greyr56’s idea of just registering for the salad plates from Jonathan Adler. We did that with some blue Pottery Barn plates and I love how it adds a pop of color to our C&B everyday china! (We ended up picking the white pearl set. I’m a sucker for polka dots!).

Those white on whites are awesome! But if you’re looking for a more classic look, I’d go with the Anna.
