Bananers for Banners!

July 13th, 2009 @ 3:23 pm by Mrs. Mouse

Excuse the cheesy title, but seriously—who doesn’t love a good banner? They’re festive, sometimes kitschy, always fun. Perfect for a wedding or rehearsal dinner! And with the power of Etsy, you can have just about any style banner that you can think of.

This seller makes banners out of vintage fabrics, so they’re totally reusable—you’re welcome, planet.

This one screams bridal shower to me. I’m loving the vintage greeting cards and the sweet blue ribbon.

Nothing beats kraft paper bearing a lovely message: “Better together”. I can see someone DIYing this one on her Gocco.

Some Scrabble tiles for the verbally inclined. How about a mini version of this to use on the backs of the bride’s and groom’s chairs?

I want one like this for my rehearsal dinner!

How adorable are the little felt letters? This is the image that originally caused my banner obsession.

I’d love to see some customized banners spelling out the couple’s names or their new last name. You could easily convo an Etsy seller and ask if they do custom work—you could even ask for a banner in your wedding colors! I’m not sure if we’re going to purchase (or make!) a banner for our reception, but I love the idea.

What wedding decor item gets you excited?

cute! Although I have to say that at first glance, I thought the triangle banners in the first pic were pretty patterned thongs, HAHAHA… *blush*

Adorable! I might have to DIY some sort of banner. I especially love the Scrabble ones. I’m surprising my fiance with a groomscake with scrabble tiles spelling something–they’d be the perfect compliment!

Not sure that it’s important, but the first banner (i.e. thongs!) is not vintage fabric. It’s brand-new Amy Butler fabric. Just thought you should know if you were leaning that way because it was vintage and reused. ;)

I love banners! We had them at our rehearsal/fiesta and they were a snap to hang (so I’m told) and made the whole place more festive. You’ve featured some really cute ones!

I made my banners using this tutorial. They were super easy and turned out great!

@Ella: Meant to say “scrap” fabric instead of “vintage” fabric. Either way, it’s reusable!
