A big hello to all of you in the hive from Miss Sunbeam! Wow, this is surreal! I would have never guessed I’d be chosen to become a bee! I’m thrilled to share my wedding plans with you and hope I can be a sunny source of inspiration and conversation! Exclamation points abound!

As you can see, I am Miss Sunbeam! Why such a sunny character? I’m that girl that that’s often smiling and boppin’ along down the sidewalk, looking on the bright side as much as possible. Meet me and my FI celebrating our engagement day, one year later in sunny Napa Valley:

I live in San Francisco with Mr. Sunbeam and our newest furry family member: our cat, Sophie.

Sometimes I am in disbelief even while admitting it - we’re high school sweethearts—10 years and counting this month! We were on and off and long distance many of those years and I like to tell people, in jest, “no matter how hard we tried to get rid of each other, we were always desperate to get each other back.” I think we were always meant to be; we just needed time to grow up!

We are planning a hometown wedding in a small town in western PA for 100 guests. Choosing our location was so difficult! We didn’t want to do our planning from afar, and had wanted to give our family a taste of CA. But on the flip-side, we wanted as many friends and family to be a part of our big day as possible, and we realized that it’s much easier for us to go to them than for 80% of them to come to us. Maybe we’ll get lucky and a flight attendent will notice my wedding dress and bump us to first class! See! It’s the bright… err… sunny side of having to fly to home for our wedding! For our wedding, we’re working in personal touches, some Pennsylvania charm, and mixing in a taste of California. I can’t wait to share my experiences, details, and a few partly cloudy days with all of you!
