Mrs. French Bulldog's Picture
Mrs. French Bulldog, Orange County Age and Occupation: 28, Administrative Assistant & Interior Design Student Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Purchasing Analyst Engagement Date: November 8, 2008 Wedding Date: August 2009 Venue: Bernardo Winery About Me: I've lived in Atlanta, Dallas and Laguna Niguel; although I've lived in Orange County, CA most my life, I'm a Southerner at heart. I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
About Mrs. French Bulldog

First of all, I KNOW that our invites should have gone out much earlier than now. I cannot believe it didn’t really hit me until this past week that—HELLO—our RSVP date is at the end of this month, and our guests have yet to receive the invitation! Bad bride! Maybe I was just too sad to part with them because I am so in love with them. Mr Frenchie is lucky I met him before these invitations (or I met these invites because of him) because it would be hard to choose between the two. (Honey, I am kidding, of course.)

This Sunday, Mr Frenchie, Mama Frenchie, Sister Frenchie, and I sat around Mama Frenchie’s dining room table and knocked these puppies out. (As a Bulldog I’m not sure I should be using that saying.)

The assembly line started with me. I stuck all the liners in inside the envelopes and helped Mama Frenchie find names to cross off on the list.

Our friendor Joe had our birdie design printed on contact paper. I took the backing off the top inch (which was scored), put the still backed part in the envelope, and then stuck the sticky side down right below the glue part of the envelope. It was super easy!

I then handed the envelopes off to Mama Frenchie who would number the backs of all the RSVP cards with each guest’s corresponding number from our spreadsheet. This way if anyone forgets to put their name on the reply card, we can figure out who they are.

Next, Mama Frenchie handed them off to Sister Frenchie, who put a queen stamp on all the reply envelopes and stuffed the whole suite inside.

Early in the week I had printed our address on all the reply envelopes using my trusty (knock-on-wood) HP printer.

As you can see, I had to tape every envelope to a piece of paper because it was too tiny to feed through my envelope slot. This is how the pros do it, right?

After everything was inside the envelope, Mr Frenchie sealed the outer envelope with a wet sponge and affixed the SUPER CUTE wrap-around return address sticker. He then passed it back to me and I put the king stamp on the outside.

Here is what they look like as you open them (it pains be to cover up the info, it is so pretty)…

Didn’t BM F do a beautiful job?

The sticker isn’t completely stuck down on this one because it is the back of Sister Frenchie’s invite. On the rest of the invites, the wrap-around label lies flat.

The reception and morning after breakfast RSVP cards tear off to be mailed back, so the guest can keep the directions and accommodations cards.

So there you have it hive, the French Bulldog invitations! My DOC loves them so much that she wants me to send one to her so she can spend time with it. She wanted to know if that was weird, but I saw nothing wrong with it because, as you know, I wanted to marry them.

How close was your RSVP deadline to your invitations’ mailing date?

Beautiful colors! They really pop…. I would be so excited to find one of these in my mailbox.

AND good idea putting the numbers on the back of the rsvp’s. I couldn’t believe how many people didn’t put their names on before returning them. Come on people……think!

We sent our invites out about 30 days before the rsvp’s were due but I wanted to beat the postal increase so that was my push to get them mailed!

Exactly how many envelopes did you have to tape to paper to print out the address? That is impressive in and of itself! I love the wrap-around return address labels!

6 weeks! Though, all of my RSVPs are in already, and the wedding’s not til December. A wee bit early, eh? Decided against extra mailers with a Save the Date, so we just went ahead and mailed out the invite so people could plan their flights and hotel and vacay time in advance.

PS: LOVE the colors! When i made a test print on my [not so trusty] printer, the only ink colors left were a blue like that and a cheery bright green. I almost changed the whole suite, because they looked so awesome! Glad to see you use them :)

These are great! I love the wrap around label. That is such a creative way to use one. Haven’t seen one like that before—I’m going to have to steal that idea for when I send out my Christmas cards!

cute invitations. i love the twist on the wrap around labels!

p.s. i also do the tape-things-down-to-a-piece-of-paper trick for things that are too small for our printer. works great. =)

Thanks ladies, I’m so glad you all like them :)

@srogan12: 87 :) It sounds like a lot, but once you get a system down it isn’t so bad.
@Champagne Wishes: I didn’t do them, I guess I didn’t make that clear in my post, my friendor Joe did them for us. We worked together a lot but the contact paper and perforated Reply cards were all his idea :)

Questions-Did you do the RSVP/Directions etc cards yourself? Or was that outsourced? All together, what size are they (four panels together)?

Frenchie,

Did you put 3:30pm so everyone gets there early, or is that when your ceremony starts?

What time does yours end? 9?

@Anne: I did actually… when I went to the post-office I had to add and extra 17 cents. They had blue rams that didn’t distract too much so I used those.
