Mrs. Powder Puff, Chicago Age and Occupation: 25, Preschool Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Career Services Engagement Date: May, 2008 Wedding Date: July, 2009 Blogging Since: November 12, 2008 Venue: Outdoor ceremony, banquet hall reception About Me: I am your typical Midwestern girl attempting to plan a sane, budget-friendly, fun wedding to the man of my dreams. I love shoes, laughing at “Platinum Weddings”, crafts, inspiration boards, candy, and basically anything I can DIY. While weddings can certainly be all-consuming, I honestly can’t wait until the ceremony is over and I can finally call Mr. Powder Puff my husband!
About Mrs. Powder Puff

Actually, despite the implications, this is a relatively tame post. This is a sweet and innocent Powder Puff! No shenanigans for me! ;)

On the Thursday before the wedding, my bridesmaids and some friends met up to eat some nummy tapas and dance the night away in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Me and bridesmaid Kristyn.

With Sister Powder Puff and Brother Powder Puff’s adorable girlfriend, Danielle.

Two more bridesmaids, Jamie and Keri.

Of course, before the dancing and stuffing our faces could begin, we needed to open some GIFTIES!!!

Ooo, pretty!

Helllooooo wedding day undies! Too much information?

Sister Powder Puff was kind enough to outfit me in all the awesome bachelorette gear she could find. She even upgraded my engagement ring!

After the presents, we made our way to Grand Rapids and to a delish tapas restaurant, where we sipped on sangria and munched on little plates of food. Yum!

Hey hey hey to the bachelorette! And to tapas!

When we’d had our fill of sangria and deliciousness, we made our way down the street to my favorite dueling piano bar, Mojos.

For reasons unknown even to me, I felt the need to sassily dance my way to our next location.

At Mojos, rocking the open-mouth smile.

Up until this point, I had completely forgotten that this was a Thursday night. That is, until we walked into Mojos. It was almost completely deserted! Who knew that normally people work on Fridays and don’t like to drink and hang out with a bachelorette party?! Shocking, I know.

Well, people or no people, it didn’t kill the party for me and my girls! We requested ridiculous songs, sang along and fist-pumped to Journey, and even had me called up on stage for a little pre-wedding serenade of embarrassment. Awesomeness!

Definitely a good night.

I had a fabulous time out with all of my bridesmaids and friends, and it just made me more excited for the actual wedding!

Up next: We rehearse!

Ha, awesome–we took my sister to San Chez and Mojo’s (with stops at the Woods and the Elbow Room) for her bachelorette in June. I’ve lived on the west coast for seven years now, and every time I come back to visit I make her take me to San Chez–yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum. GR is getting to be quite impressive, which makes visiting much more fun now. :)

@Twalison: I actually borrowed that bad boy from my sister, so I have no clue where she got it. Sorry!
@LatteLove: Heck yes! ;)
@Miss French Bulldog: Good eye! Yes, my sister asked everyone to wear black but me.

Mine was fairly tame as well, but I couldn’t have cared less what we did since I got to see all my girls! I’m not wearing a veil on my wedding day, so the girls made sure I got a tiara like yours with a veil!
