Hey hey hive! We’ve gotten a number of requests to streamline author archives, so that it’s easier to find posts.
Well, here it is… come and get it! We just created this streamlined archive page, that shows the title and tags of each post - along with a 60 or so word excerpt. And because pictures are such a big part of our posts, we threw in a thumbnail to help give a sense for each post:

As an added benefit, the archive page should load much faster now! We have an increasing amount of traffic coming from iPhones, Blackberries, and other smartphones - so the smaller page sizes (2/3 smaller!) should make browsing much faster for mobile users, as well!
We’re generating smaller thumbnails for the larger images now, so over time the pages will load even faster. 
Eventually, we’ll be able to display more than the 10 per page that there are now… we hope to get it up to 25 or more!

If these pages work well, we’ll consider making it an option to have the streamlined version appear as your frontpage as well! But don’t worry - we’d continue to support the classic view of the frontpage.
A huge thank you to Mr. Bee and BIL Bee for working so hard on this for us… this feature literally took weeks and long nights to hash out! We rove you rong time, man bees!

Wow this will be so helpful when I try to find that one bee that did that one thing.
Totally amazing - as a relative newcomer to WB, this is great for catching up and finding old posts. And since I sometimes have to catch up on several days of WB at once, this streamlined format will greatly increase my efficiency!
I really like the streamline version and would not mind at all having that is the default front page. It’s a much quicker way to assess what’s been blogging lately.

the date archive is a nice addition. i hope we eventually have a way to navigate via “calendar”, so if i know i stopped reading say on, Tuesday, when i come back on Saturday, I can easily navigate back by days too.
Definitely should make browsing the archives easier.

I really like this design. If the post has no photo, we get a big photo of our face in the preview- that’s how it works? That’s motivation for me to find a photo for my posts :)!!!
