Headband Envy

July 18th, 2009 @ 4:45 pm by Mrs. Meatball

Holy feathered goodness! While I could wear one of these beauties every day of the week, methinks they’d look especially bad-ass on a bold bride. Little Von Loo makes clips, bands and combs that range from dainty and sweet to fierce and fabulous. From their site, it appears that down the road they’ll also offer custom designs; and with prices ranging from about $28-$130 - there’s something for any budget. Props to my mom, for turning me onto these and spawning a whole new obsession.

Better put a napkin down to prepare for the drooling that’s about to ensue…

I mean, c’mon… aren’t they just obnoxiously fly? These things are the YUM, yo!

I love love love swanky swank headbands like this. I would buy a whole bunch, except I’m pretty sure I’d have no place to wear them to!

I love these! *sigh* I love hair accessories but I’d feel awkward wearing them on any occasion except for engagement photos (which I did) or on your wedding day (which I will).

Love! Perhaps a TAD extravagant for everyday wear, but awesome nonetheless. I totally wear simpler feather headbands and fascinators to church and even sometimes to work (though they do garner a few raised eyebrows from time to time). They’re one of my favorite instant gratification DIY projects. A few feathers from my Hobby Lobby stash, a thrift store brooch, a leftover headband from an embarrassing Gossip Girl phase and a hot glue gun. Done in 20 minutes.

This was my first DIY wedding project. I bought the multi-colored feathers for $5 each on Etsy, I bought a pack of hair clips at Sally Hair Supply and I used a glue gun to attach the various feathers to the hair clips and added a little ribbon here and there, Easy as pie and only cost me about $7 per hair clip. This is one of my BM gifts and they will wear them for the ceremony to add some color to their hair. Totally inexpensive and super do-able if you don’t want to pay the $28 fee for each.
