I love shoes, laughing at “Platinum Weddings”, crafts, inspiration boards, candy, and basically anything I can DIY. While weddings can certainly be all-consuming, I honestly can’t wait until the ceremony is over and I can finally call Mr. Powder Puff my husband!
About Mrs. Powder Puff

The evening before our wedding I was a bundle of nerves. The weatherman had been teasing me all week—rain on Saturday, no rain, thunderstorms on Friday—gaahhh! All day Friday I was watching the skies, searching for clouds. But despite the weatherman’s reports, the evening was beautiful, and we didn’t get rained out. Which is fortunate, because we had no back-up plan. Eek!

Once at the venue, our fabulous officiant, Pastor Ron, explained the ceremony to us and walked us through the motions.

Please disregard the gazebo decor. There was another wedding that evening that finished riiiight before we were supposed to start. Cutting it close, Powder Puff style.

Walking down the aisle was something that I had been looking forward to for months and months. And now it was almost here! I literally could not stop smiling.

Walking down the aisle with my dad. It was such an awesome feeling, and this was only a practice run!

Once I made it to the end of the aisle, it was time for the vows.

Our vows were one of my favorite parts of our ceremony. They were traditional, with a twist, written by our pastor (I’ll definitely share them with you in a later post). As we practiced the words that would make us husband and wife in a few short hours, I saw Mr. Powder Puff tearing up. The sight melted my heart and was totally unexpected. The mister is not a big crier. At all. Seeing him get emotional made my sight get a little blurry and a lump rise in my throat. Hold it together, Puffy!

After a couple of run throughs, it was time to chow down! We all headed over to a Greek restaurant in town, and proceeded to eat a fabulous dinner.

Bridesmaid and Groomsman power couple, also known as Jake and Kristyn.

That evening was definitely emotional for me. Looking around the table at all the most important people in our lives smiling back at us was an awesome experience. And it was only the beginning!

Next up: Time to get pretty!
