Lots of progress this past weekend! We are under the gun to ship things out today or tomorrow so that our boxes are there by the time we arrive. Utter pandemonium best describes the Piglet household. Up until this past month, the Mr and I usually tackled weekend wedding tasks together whether it be shopping, DIY projects, meals, etc. But alas, this is a luxury we can no longer afford. The divide and conquer approach is the name of the game.
And it’s paying off. Our first box is out the door!

Yeah, not so exciting.
What is exciting is that our first DIY project is en route to Hawaii! Aloha dancing shoes! At weddings, you will always see us dancing the night away. All it takes is a familiar song (for me - 112’s Only You, for him - any Korean song by DJ Doc) to get us into the groove. We’ll bop our heads for a minute or two, then immediately rush to the dance floor and boogie down… for hours! By the end of the night, I usually limp out of the ballroom wincing in pain. The 3.5 inch heels probably didn’t help.
Our wedding will be no different. A friend is compiling a mix of songs for our DJ, Tony So, that will have our guests out of their seats, and onto the dance floor (we hope). To ease any suffering the girls may feel by the end of the night, a basket full of flip flops will be available for our ladies. Out of convenience, we purchased our flip flops from LA’s fashion district at $2 a pair.

We created shoe size tags with our background motif from our wedding invitations, and printed them using our inkjet printer. Using the luggage tag craft punch from Michaels, we cut them, punched holes, and tied the shoe size tag onto each pair with hemp twine. To jazz up the basket, I weaved ribbon around it. We whipped up a sign using the hibiscus (again from our wedding invitations), and mounted it on foam core. And here is the finished product!

Cute, yah? ![]()
Will you be offering dancing shoes to your guests?
