RSVP Tracking

July 20th, 2009 @ 2:50 pm by Mrs. Green Tea

I got a black light pen so MOH-Ho can track her RSVPs, in case any of them comes in illegible, damaged in the mail (it is a postcard, after all), or my favorite - blank. I actually tracked my own by marking them with an inkless pen, but this is definitely safer and easier. I found this pen for barely over a buck (shipping included!), so I thought I’d show you the results and share the deal:

You really can’t tell the markings at all under normal lighting:

I bought the pen HERE, and shipping took like 3 weeks (I was in no hurry so it didn’t matter). Packaging was crappy (definitely don’t send it directly as a gift), but the pen itself works perfectly. $1.33 for a good little spy pen to arrive right in my mailbox, really can’t be beat.

Did you get back any blank or illegible RSVP cards?

Awesome idea! Since I’m done with RSVPs, I ordered one for my 6 year old daughter, she will love it!

That was so smart! I wish we would have thought of it - just dropped ours in the mail this weekend! I hope none come back blank!! That’s so weird!

That’s a great idea!

DX has lots of items for really cheap. I stocked up on pregnancy tests. The instructions are in Chinese but I had a friend translate and ended up with 10 tests for less than $2. Lots of cute accessories at DX too.

I wish I would have that when I sent out my invites!

I wrote numbers on the back of my rsvp’s that corresponded with a excel spreadsheet so all I would need to record was the number attending when they arrived back to me.

We printed out return address lables for each invite with the guests info on it and attached them to the flap of the RSVP envelopes so we’d know who they were from. Since I already had the addresses on a file, it didn’t take long and then it was just one more step when I was putting the stamps on.

I bought the same pen for my RSVPs! I had three come back without names, so using it to number my invites saved me a lot of stress. It was so easy to figure out who sent them thanks to that pen.

On another note, who did the printing for those?

@WorstTwinEver15: if you mean printing of the invites, i designed and printed those for my MOH’s wedding. see link at beginning of post for reference :)

I wish I’d ordered this before we sent our invites out… I thought about it the day before so we ended up using a black pen and the back of the RSVP cards.

Wow. If I did regular RSVP’s, this would be genius. Alas, I offered our guests phone and email and website to rsvp in order to be green and save us some dough. It didn’t pan out that great, though. everyone called MIL (my # was listed on the invite, wtf!) to rsvp

we are printing their name on their otherwise this would totally be a purchase of mine…I might get it just to write randomness on them and use the cool light when i get them back :) :)

That’s an awesome idea…I suppose you would use that to identify the guests, and then you would call them to confirm their RSVP? =) Cool.
