Mrs. Poodle's Picture
Mrs. Poodle, Santiago, Chile/San Bernardino, CA Age and Occupation: 27, Industrial & Web Designer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Firefighter & Mountain Patrol Engagement Date: February 25, 2009 Wedding Date: January 2010 Venue: Mr. P's Grandparents’ Ranch About Me: I’m a Chilean girl who's crazy about nature and swimming. I enjoy carving, drawing, reading and sewing; I drool over computers, fabric, pretty paper, purple and patterns. To me, chocolate should be one of the seven wonders, right next to lemon pie. I never thought an exchange work experience program was going to change my life forever, but while working in California, I met Mr. Poodle, and ever since my days are better and brighter. We are two goofy souls that, after finding each other, couldn’t help but want to be together forever. It has being a long and sometimes hard road, since we have to deal with such a long distance between us, but we are now facing the last stage of our Fiancé Visa, and soon we will be together. You know the best part? We will be married! So I’ll be blogging from Chile until just a few months before our “green and purple” wedding.

Folding Madness!

July 21st, 2009 @ 2:28 pm by Mrs. Poodle

I already shared with the hive my obsession with using every single piece of purple paper I’ve gathered thought the years for our wedding. That way we can cut costs on the flowers and I’ll finally be using my entire paper stack.

I’ve been searching for pretty paper folding projects, and I thought I should share them. This is the list, so far—apart from the centerpieces and cherry blossoms I posted about earlier, here.

Folding Madness! : wedding crafts diy Kusudam

This is the tutorial. And here are some examples of balls made with these flowers:

These are some other kinds of flowers, called Venus flowers:

The tutorials are here, I found them via OrigamiAncy.

And some random folding projects I like:

Folding Madness! : wedding crafts diy Origame Here’s the description and video tutorial for the rose, via Origamiancy

Folding Madness! : wedding crafts diy 4 Leaf Here’s the description and tutorial for the clover, in PDF format

I was also searching for different origami boxes, and this is what I found and like so far:

And I found these cool instructions to make the boxes: Page 1, Page 2, Page 3

Folding Madness! : wedding crafts diy Origami02 Here’s another tutorial for this box

Are you attempting to learn a new technique to make something for your wedding?

More power to you! I started with the kusudama as a DIY project for ceremony decorations…and while I’ve always loved doing origami, I nixed it because I knew I’d never end up getting them done :)

Can’t WAIT to see more of your plans unfold!!

My friend’s husband made origami flowers for all of the flowers - bouts, bouquets, center pieces… they were BEAUTIFUL! But a LOT of work!

@ladybuglove: There’s one step pn those that was really hard for me to finish, if they only had more pictures :) and yes! I’m taking them to California but I’m not doing the last step so that way I can stuck them on my suitcase :)

@Miss French Bulldog: I wanted to make those to wrap our favors, but I have no idea what favors I want, and I can only picture myself doing no more than four of those lol

oooh paper flowers!! I’m doing a lot of paper flowers for my wedding, but am a bit leery of all the effort involved in the origami ones. I’m going the crepe paper route, but I guess I could try them before dismissing them. Thanks for the links.
