About Mrs. Sunbeam

Smitten

July 21st, 2009 @ 9:30 am by Mrs. Sunbeam

If you saw me on any given day, a glance at my feet would tell you I’m pretty clueless about shoes. I own… maybe 12 pairs of shoes? Five that I wear regularly. Shoes just never spoke to me, until recently… when I saw these beauties and was so unexpectedly SMITTEN!!

*Heart flutters* I had no idea how to get my hands on these, or if I could even afford to be in the same room as them, so I called on the hive for help. Well girls, you came through! I found out these Giuseppe Zanotti 3″ dyeable satin shoes were a limited edition in a previous year’s collection. At the time, I scoured the internet looking for them to no avail, and moved on. Today though, it’s a different story! You can get them here in ivory for $590! Ahk!

So, what does a hopeless shoe girl do when it comes to wedding shoes?

She enlists a friend who she knows loves shoes and has tons of them! My friend sent me links to some great shoe blogs for inspiration. Now, in addition to pouring over wedding sites, I had shoe sites to start drooling over. Sadly, so many that I liked also made my wallet cry! Here are some heels that made my sunny heart pitter patter!

Nice to meet you Nina Ricci; how would you like to come home with me? Wink, wink. Oh wait, did you say you’re 4.25″ tall and $725? Not only would my ankle break if I attempted to walk in you, but so would my credit card.

Wow Christian Louboutin, you have a stunning bow too, for only $895! I see you come in ivory and have a red sole; how did you know those were our wedding colors? Do you mind telling an 8 to go into hiding until you’re like 80% off? Thank you (call me)!

Well, I never got that phone call! But I did end up with some fabulous shoes, thanks to the one and only Kate Spade!

I spotted these babies on Zappos, and then tried them on at the KS store for size. I love the knob at the toe, the 3″ heel that hopefully won’t make me wobble like a baby giraffe, and the wearability post-wedding! Sure, the $300 price tag is nothing to scoff at, but it’s my one and only pair of fancy shoes, for my fancy day, and any fancy times to come!

How is your hunt for the perfect pair going? Is your wallet hiding in fear of huge price tags? Are you looking for something colorful for wearability after the wedding?

Those same Louboutins had me on the hunt for months! Luckily, like you, Kate came to my rescue and I am ever grateful! Congrats on finding your sole mates! ;o)

Those shoes are beautiful, all of them! I can’t imagine spending more than $50 on shoes, maybe $100 on a really big splurge.

Everybody here knows my obsession with shoes (namely, Louboutins). I searched for a couple months but ended up with a pair of gorgeous Louboutins for only $300 BNIB! I’m glad you found something you love!

I’ve had my eye on those Kate Spade for SO LONG! I can never find them in my size in any other color than black… and I have enough (too many) black pumps.
