I recently saw this cuteeee cake stand posted on Once Wed and I showed it to Mr. Poodle right away. He loved it!! And he actually wants to make one for us, so yaaayy!! I’m checking that off of my list and typing it into his hehe (evil smile).

The cool thing is that there is a tutorial that goes along with the post that I emailed to Mr. Poodle, even though I didn’t need to, because he said, “Baby, don’t worry… that’s a piece of cake.” I’m so excited to see how our cake stand ends up looking!
Is your mister helping you with your DIY projects? If so, are you just giving him the “easiest” ones? Or is he picking and choosing which projects he’s doing?

Love the cake stand! its very cute. My husband, during the days leading up to the wedding was doing pretty much everything from talking to the vendors to cake flavor tasting. I was sick so he had to take it on, but he was so excited about it that there was no need for me to even worry!

Oh, that’s really cool! Mr. Star has definitely helped me with a lot of DIY projects, but I haven’t left him to his own devices on any yet!

What a great project. How cool that Mr. Poodle is helping you with your DIY. My husband DIYd our invitations and they turned out great!
Haha want to hear soemthing funny? (ok so before i say anything, that’s a beautiful cake stand!!) but I saw a wedding cake that looked just like that tree stump once! The baker was grumbling angrily about how weird it looked! 
that’s awesome! i love it! FI said that i have free reign on all decisions and he will do whatever i ask:-) um, so far we’ve discussed benches and paper lantern installations……
that’s the cakestand that me and my hubby-to-be are making! saw it on once wed a few months ago! we should compare diy pics!

I found that link too and asked my father to make it for me- an easy way for him to be involved. or so i thought. BEWARE: those sizes and lengths of wood cut just so are pretty hard to find large enough to fit a standard wedding cake. My dad had to enlist a friend after much searching. GOOD LUCK! and good taste!

I basically forced Mr. Lab to make our fauxtobooth by saying it would be super manly of him. Luckily, he agreed!

2) I sent this to my mom last night and told her to get my dad on it - and requested that he actually go cut down a tree or find one down in the woods for it!
