Last Sunday, Mr. Tiramisu and I celebrated our very first wedding anniversary! It is so hard to believe that it has been a whole year since our stormy and wonderful wedding day. We celebrated with a little weekend trip to Maine.
Of course, we had to pay a visit to our wedding venue. They were cleaning up from the Saturday wedding, so hopefully they didn’t notice us trespassing across the lawn and down onto the beach!

It was a seriously gorgeous day in Maine.
And it was full of cheesy self-portrait ops for the Tiramisus… we I couldn’t resist one with our reception site in the background. My hubby is such a good sport.
We went to Blue Sky on York Beach for lunch (highly recommended!), and what was on their daily drink special menu but Dark and Stormies! As one of our signature drinks, and the unintended theme of our wedding, we couldn’t resist.
After lunch we lounged on the beach for a couple of hours. At the exact moment that our ceremony had started one year before, Mr. T handed me a letter he’d written me for the occasion. Which, of course, made me cry. Where did he learn this stuff?

There was just one event left to make our anniversary complete… year-old cake eating!
It all started off nice…
But oh what a difference a year makes…
After cleaning the blueberry filling out of my nostrils, I joined Mr. Tiramisu in enjoying this fresher version of our wedding cake. Thanks, Mom!
I have to say, it was a wonderful weekend, and the perfect way to kick off our second (wow) year of marriage!

Happy Anniversary! I still think your wedding photos are breathtaking–what a beautiful setting. How sweet is your husband, with his letter! My husband suggested we write letters to one another to be opened on our 10th anniversary, so I can’t wait to see what he wrote!

we went back to our venue, 13 days after our wedding, because we shamelessly were craving the excellent french food. tee hee!

Happy Anniversary! That’s sweet that he wrote a letter. I like the flower. We’re going to Hawaii for a few days to celebrate our 1 year in September. Can’t wait!
I doesn’t seem like it’s been a year since I started drooling over your flowers and other details. Congrats and what a wonderful way to celebrate!!
The place where we will be staying over the wedding weekend has a policy that if you stayed there the previous year you have first dibs on the same place the same weekend the following year (have to put a deposit down before you check out). We may go back to the same place like you and try to relive some of our wedding day too.
Congrats to you both! I’m not married yet, but we have already been talking about the 1 yr anniversary. Hopefully we will make it to NYC and watch the Yankees in their new stadium. We both are huge fans.
