Mrs. Powder Puff's Picture
Mrs. Powder Puff, Chicago Age and Occupation: 25, Preschool Teacher Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Career Services Engagement Date: May, 2008 Wedding Date: July, 2009 Blogging Since: November 12, 2008 Venue: Outdoor ceremony, banquet hall reception About Me: I am your typical Midwestern girl attempting to plan a sane, budget-friendly, fun wedding to the man of my dreams. I love shoes, laughing at “Platinum Weddings”, crafts, inspiration boards, candy, and basically anything I can DIY. While weddings can certainly be all-consuming, I honestly can’t wait until the ceremony is over and I can finally call Mr. Powder Puff my husband!
About Mrs. Powder Puff

***Warning: If you are offended by photos of dead fish, please proceed no further***

‘Now wait a gosh darn minute,’ you may be thinking to yourself. ‘We’ve talked all about what the girls were doing the morning of the wedding. Where on earth were the guys?’ Well, wonder no more my friends, because pictures have surfaced of the elusive boys’ time on the morning of the wedding. And I am here to share them all with you. So where were the boys? On a boat. Fishing, smoking cigars, and drinking scotch. Yep, nothing says “it’s 8:30 in the morning” like scotch and cigars. Let me explain. My dad, ever the host, felt the need to arrange some sort of entertainment for interested peeps on the morning of the wedding. So, he chartered a boat and took Mr. Powder Puff, two groomsmen, my brother, and Sister Powder Puff’s boyfriend out on a fishing adventure.

A beautiful Michigan morning.

And let me tell you, the action started early. Mr. Powder Puff kicked it off by catching the first fish!

The hunter

The veeeeryyyy unlucky prey.

Need a closer look?

Need an even closer look?

Yes, many many pictures were taken of this one poor fish, who would become our dinner in about 36 hours. But what was everyone else doing at this point? That’s right! Catching more fish!

Groomsman Jake, getting after it.

The bounty

Father of the Bride and the Groom, starting the morning off right. I think at this point my dad was explaining that after today, Mr. Powder Puff would have a wife, and my dad would have a huge stack of extra money. Thanks, dad.

So the moral of the story is this: not only is fishing on the morning of your wedding a good time for some male bonding, but it also provides dinner for the following day!

Next up? The girls and I get dressed!

That is a great idea. We’re having a morning wedding, so I have no idea what were going to do.

That is so my guy! We’re trying to find something for the men to do other than golf, which none of them could even attempt. I think they may actually hit the batting cages. Oh god - any ideas on how to ensure they all wear helmets and no one ends up in the ER?

Awww what a nice manly bonding time! ;) My dad was joking the other day about how he was running frantically to the service (reminds me of the scene from the Hangover) because he was playing a round of golf before the ceremony. Way to go, dad!

my only issue with this is a general lack of nautical themed padjmena afghans. its too bad there was not a secret drinking party in the woods involving the entire bridal party before the ceremony. oh wait. there was. BOOM. roasted.
