A technician came out to our house yesterday and hooked up our internet, so you know what that means…
It’s time for the Bunny time traveling adventure to commence!
We’ll start by going back more than a month before the wedding.
Please watch the swinging carrot … Yes, that’s it …You’re getting veeerrry sleepy … When you wake, it will be May 30, when Miss Bunny was the newest bee and most of you were reading about the preparations she’d been making between January and May.
Mr. Bunny grew up in a small town two hours away from Columbus, so we held two showers. One was here in Columbus and was thrown by a group of women from my parents’ church in the middle of May. The other was held in Mr. B’s hometown.
Both were your typical church-basement showers. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining in the slightest! Our families and friends were extraordinarily generous and we’re very grateful.
At the first one held at my parents’ church, my Aunt V. gave a really great devotional about the meaning of marriage. Everything she said has really stuck with me. Marriage is really between three people — you, your spouse, and God, she said — and the purpose of marriage is to help you grow closer to God and to each other. Loving your spouse teaches you about loving God and vice versa.
Sunny, Funny and Honey Bunny bridesmaids (plus honorary bridesmaid Mimsy, left) had several hushed conversations in the days leading up to the shower, so I knew they were planning something nefarious.
They put together a great quiz about Mr. Bunny and me and each got up and shared some funny and embarrassing memories of me. I swear, I’m not that bad a driver, guys! I figured those two things were the reason for the whispered conversations until I opened up my last gift. It was a light blue tank top and panties and a book called Sheet Music… har har.
Sister Sunny Bunny read the answers to the quiz.
Honey Bunny took on the task of assembling my rehearsal bouquet.
One of the coolest things about showers at my parents’ church is that the ladies always make a quilt for the couple. They’re always exquisitely beautiful. I think we’ll either use it on the bed in our guest room or hang it on the wall.
Then we all enjoyed some delicious snacks!
The shower in Mr. Bunny’s hometown was great, too. His aunts and cousins planned a great party that included fun games. The winners took home mini-cookbooks. Unfortunately, I didn’t take many photos at the shower in Mr. Bunny’s hometown.
But seriously, how awesome is this cake?
I can’t believe they got a baker to replicate our invitation design! SO cool!
I also donated a couple poms for the occasion. I don’t think they knew they were designed for hanging, but whatev. They look nice on the gift table, don’t you think?
If I haven’t given you a shower thank you yet, I am SOOOO sorry! I promise they’ll be in the mail tomorrow and that I am VERY thankful for your gift!
