Hair’spiration

July 29th, 2009 @ 1:14 pm by Mrs. Cowboy Boot

I’m at it again, hive. I thought I’d signed on the dotted line and was all set to go but then my hairstylist went and upped the bejesus out of her pricing. I wasn’t aware of this when I first went to my trial but her pricing was based on me using the original makeup artist I went to, Katelyn Simkins. And then I decided, Katelyn, the first makeup artist, just wasn’t for me. Here’s a link to my successful hair trial.

So, I’m off and running again. Luckily, Liz, my new makeup artist (who Mrs. Cookie came upon first!) is on the books. But, this coming weekend, I’ll be taking a second stab at my hair. I was happy with the styles I brought along to the first trial, but since then, I’ve added a few more inspiration pictures to my file.

Do I go with the messy, low chignon?

How about the low side ponytail?

Or, leave it down a curly?

The options are pulling me in all directions. Do I put it up to be more comfortable and dance? Do I leave it down and be more flowy? Do I do the side pony, or is it too trendy? Hmph.

How are you wearing your hair for your wedding?

I’m doing a chignon, but no loose ends because my hair will be a frizzed out mess for sure if everything’s not perfectly in place! Chignons are just so bridal to me!

I’m vexed with this as well. I like how romantic hair down looks, but I know it won’t be practical for dancing. And I’m very into chignons.

I have no solutions at all!

I love the way the side pony tail looks, but my stylist suggested that it would be too trendy. In the end I agree with her. It looks great now, but what about ten years from now? Anyway, I vote for the messy, low chignon. Classic and romantic!

I’ll PM you the pictures!

My hair is much shorter than yours so I wont bore you with what I’m doing, but for you I really like the side ponytail :)

I originally wanted to do down and curly, but was afraid I wouldn’t like the look if my hair got frizzy at all. I liked side-pony, but my sister and hairstylist/friend decided it was too trendy. I went with a slightly messy, curly chignon and really liked it.

I’m wearing mine down for the ceremony and then going to put it up for the reception. So in essence, 2 hair do’s in 1 day!

i vote for the messy low chignon, i think it will look best with your dress, and just a more romantic not too trendy feel! You can always wear a side ponytail for a night on the town.

I wore my hair in side ponytail. I chose it not because it was “trendy” but because it was the perfect compromise for me between wearing my hair down (which would bug me) and wearing it up (which I felt was way too stuffy for my tastes). The “trendy” talk is amusing to me because most of the wedding stuff in now will be outdated 2 years from now whether folks realize it or not, so who cares? I say pick what feels most comfortable to you or works best with your look.

I love either that first photo or a version of the last one for you. Either way, though, I think you’ll love awesome!

down and curly! you can always pull it back into a side pony with a pretty bejeweled hair tie half-way through the reception if it starts to bother you.

Short hairstyle

I really like your site, it’s well put together and has a very clean feel to it. Great pictures and I really enjoyed the articles on your site. Go with the long chignon, definitely.

I’m having the same dilemma as you! I’m hoping my hair stylist can help me make the decision.
